[Frameworks] Lis Rhodes' Journal of Disbelief
Heya frameworkers, I wanted to circulate this online project we've been working on over at Western Front as I thought might be of interest to some folks on the listserv. Streaming on our website right now is Lis Rhodes' recent film "Journal of Disbelief." The full, feature length work is available to view for free, as is a new project which includes a secondary soundtrack with an audio description of the visual components of the film made by Jae Lew, Cori Coutu, Emma Hedditch and Tiffany Muñoz. It's a really incredible project that I've been really excited to see come together that is doing some interesting thinking about accessibility and experimental film. Will be streaming online through September 6 (both the original version and the version with the audio description)! So hop on over and check it out. https://front.bc.ca/events/everything-is-in-the-language-we-use/ (Two vimeo embeds on the page, both titled, but the top one includes the audio description and the second one down is the original version of Lis' film) -Pablo -- Pablo de Ocampo Exhibitions Curator Western Front 303 East 8th Avenue Vancouver BC V5T 1S1 Canada T. +1.604.876.9343 E. pablodeoca...@front.bc.ca W. www.front.bc.ca *what's on:* Everything is in the language we use <https://front.bc.ca/events/everything-is-in-the-language-we-use/> Mercedes Eng, Emma Hedditch, and Lis Rhodes on view through 22 August STSTS » Maggie Groat <https://front.bc.ca/events/ststs/> Public art project on view on the building's exterior ___ FrameWorks mailing list FrameWorks@jonasmekasfilms.com https://mailman-mail5.webfaction.com/listinfo/frameworks

Re: [Frameworks] Slide Projector Controller
I do have the manual, which i found a pdf of online, looks like it was from the Steven you mentioned. i only have a coyote, not a synchronizer, as I understood the coyote would hear the cues from the sync track on the audio tape, but maybe I'm missing a piece of gear? We digitized the audio tape, and yes, it appears to be 100k tones one after the other, though not evenly spaced, like they happen at different intervals, but all seem to be the same duration and frequency. [Frameworks] Slide Projector Controller
Hey folks. Wondering if anyone on the list has any technical know how and experience with an AVL Coyote slide controller. It's a unit that you can use to program and run a three projector slide show, either by loading the commands into the unit , or via a sync track on an audio tape. I'm working with an artist to resuscitate a work of theirs from the early 1980s. We have an AVL Coyote, and the 4 track audio tape that holds the show sync information, but can't seem to get the show to run. I do know that the Coyote works, as it powers on and I can manually control slide projectors from the buttons on the Coyote. Perhaps the input that hears a sync signal is broken? but the circuitry that sends commands to slide projectors definitely works. Looking for someone that might be able to help advise on it in some capacity, thought I'd try my luck here Thanks! -- Pablo de Ocampo Exhibitions Curator Western Front 303 East 8th Avenue Vancouver BC V5T 1S1 Canada T. +1.604.876.9343 E. pablodeoca...@front.bc.ca W. www.front.bc.ca *what's on:* Everything is in the language we use <https://front.bc.ca/events/everything-is-in-the-language-we-use/> Mercedes Eng, Emma Hedditch, and Lis Rhodes on view through 22 August STSTS » Maggie Groat <https://front.bc.ca/events/ststs/> Public art project on view on the building's exterior ___ FrameWorks mailing list FrameWorks@jonasmekasfilms.com https://mailman-mail5.webfaction.com/listinfo/frameworks

Re: [Frameworks] 35mm slides from digital files
Hey everyone, I should have clarified that I don't actually want to do this myself, but want to find a lab that does it! its sort of a bunch of complicated questions: a lab with a film recorder that can output a digital file to 35mm film, ability of a lab to calibrate the film recorder to bw film stock, and ability to process said stock. It looks like this dr5 lab in denver will work out to be able to do all this stuff! Life Wastes Andy Hardy Outer Space). Thoughts? Best, Josh ___ FrameWorks mailing list FrameWorks@jonasmekasfilms.com https://mailman-mail5.webfaction.com/listinfo/frameworks
[Frameworks] 220v projector in north america
Hey all I have this memory that there is a couple different models of Eiki or Elmo projectors which can run on either 110 or 220v power. like they are switchable or have a motor that can take both currents? Thanks! Pablo ___ FrameWorks mailing list FrameWorks@jonasmekasfilms.com https://mailman-mail5.webfaction.com/listinfo/frameworks
[Frameworks] standalone media players
Hey frameworks, Does anyone on the list have any hands on experience with networkable standalone media players? There seems to be two different models that I know of people using: the BrightSign and the Adtec signEdje. i don't see a huge difference between the two on paper, but wanted to see if anyone had hands on experience with either of these, specifically in situations of syncing multiple units together for looping HD 1920 x 1080 MPEG-2 files. thanks in advance for any tips!
