request to get a port update for lang/qore reviewed
I submitted the following update for a port I maintain, lang/qore, I have seen no movement on it. I'm happy to make any necessary changes, I just need some feedback. https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=202230 Thanks! Re: Help with getting movement on "anomalous" port
Hello, As I've been told this is not a "first come first serve" sort of process, but this is taking an inordinate amount of time. I am at this point pleading that someone take this up. I maintain 2 other ports, lang/qore and www/vee - am the author of the latter - and have never had such issues as I am having with getting this port looked at. Please some take a look at it. http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=186493 Thank you, Brett On Fri, Feb 14, 2014 at 7:58 AM, Rodrigo Osorio wrote: > > Hi, > > Thanks for your submition. > > Adding a little comment about what this port does (now I know is a bitcoin > stuff), > and why is it needed in the freebsd ports system usually helps a lot. > > Regards > - rodrigo > > > On 14/02/14 07:41 -0600, B. Re: Help with getting movement on "anomalous" port
Thank you. I have this information in the pkg-descr file, but I am happy to add it to the PR. It's a basic fork of litecoin (already in there) and very similar to the ever growing collection of crypto currency clients in net-p2p. https://www.feathercoin.com/ Brett On Fri, Feb 14, 2014 at 7:58 AM, Rodrigo Osorio wrote: > > Hi, > > Thanks for your submition. > > Adding a little comment about what this port does (now I know is a bitcoin > stuff), > and why is it needed in the freebsd ports system usually helps a lot. > > Regards > - rodrigo > > > On 14/02/14 07:41 -0600, B. Help with getting movement on "anomalous" port
A couple of weeks ago I submitted a new port for net-p2p/feathercoin. Shortly thereafter, it was marked as miscategorized so I resubmitted thinking that this was the proper course of action. (at the bottom of: http://portsmon.freebsd.org/portsanomalies.py) http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=186324 http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=186493 It now seems that they are stuck in the queue since I have had another port maintainer-update (lang/qore) go through without any problems. Please advise on the best way to make progress on this, either through fixing something missing in the new port or getting it pushed through. Thank you! The man page is too huge. The man page is not that big, I just checked due to my interest in this thread. portmaster seems to be very configurable and scriptable, but I would suggest that among the "examples" in the man page be the idiom(s) one might want to use if a complete batch process is desired. If I may "bikeshed", it's probably more appropriately in 'science' given that there is no 'geo' category similar to 'astro' or 'biology': http://www.saga-gis.org/saga_modules_doc/index.html It seems to be much more than a mere plotting tool, and is certainly not a math library or "laboratory" (e.g., Octave). Take a look at the types of applications in 'math' vs 'science', and it should be clear that it is general enough to belong in 'science'. Just my $0.02... So I followed the instructions on updating at http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/porters-handbook/port-upgrading.html, and during the process updated the checksum file with 'make makesum' and ran the suggested install/deinstall/reinstall/etc tests. Everything worked fine, so I sent in the result of 'diff -ruN vee.bak vee' in through send-pr. So is that about it? Also, I mentioned in the report that I'd like to be the maintainer for the port, but would like to reiterate it. Thanks - this was pretty fun and the replies I got were very helpful. www/vee
I am the author of www/vee, and when checking to see if it's been upgraded to the latest I found out that there was no longer a maintainer for this port. http://www.freshports.org/www/?page=19 I am interested in getting the latest version into ports, and am willing to become port maintainer for it - if someone would kindly point me to the documentation describing how to do such a thing.
