librsync2 and ioping were claimed a couple hours before you requested
those ports, but pick was claimed about 90 minutes after.

It's tobik@'s call as he took maintainership, but you did request it.
Regardless of whether Tobias wants to retain maintainership, please
take a look at https://portscout.freebsd.org/po...@freebsd.org.html
and see if there are some other ports you'd be interested in
maintaining. We'd love to lure you back to FreeBSD ports.

Dropping maintainership of my Ports

2020-03-27 Thread Neel Chauhan

Hi freebsd-ports@,

I would like to drop maintainership for the following Ports:

databases/py-mysqlclient
deskutils/go-for-it
devel/grpc
devel/libnsutils
devel/libparserutils
devel/netsurf-buildsystem
devel/nsgenbind
dns/libnspsl
emulators/nestopia
graphics/cloudcompare
graphics/glfw
graphics/libnsbmp
graphics/libnsgif
graphics/maim
graphics/py-glfw
math/py-keras
multimedia/gtk-youtube-viewer
net/librsync2
net/yaz
security/i2p
sysutils/ioping
sysutils/pick
sysutils/ttyd
sysutils/zrep
textproc/libcss
textproc/libwapcaplet
www/itop
www/libdom
www/libhubhub
www/mohawk
www/mongrel2
www/netsurf
x11/slop

I am no longer interested in maintaining Ports, after many months of
half-hearted work if not neglect. I still plan to contribute to FreeBSD,
just that my focus is now on the TCP/IP networking stack.

Could someone please reset the maintainership of the ports above?

I know I'm going to have trouble with the ports area anyway, because I

The ports will not be touched, but some will not run on 10.3 because of ABI
changes in some shareable libraries. Most of the base system uses versioned
symbols, so will work fine, but some, usually contributed code, don't.
Ports that use them will need to be re-installed/rebuilt.

It is recommended that, when moving between major versions, all ports be
re-installed, but most won't need it. The tricky part is finding those that
need rebuilding. While mixing ports and packages is nto generally
recommended, I would upgrade all ports that have default configurations be
re-installed from packages. Those that have custom configurations will, of
course need to be re-built.

Rebuilding my ports area

2015-07-24 Thread Dave Horsfall
FreeBSD 9.3-RELEASE-p20 (GENERIC) #0: Tue Jul 21 19:29:33 UTC 2015

Having completely scragged my ports area following various changes to
pkg/pkgng/etc, and being unable to sysinstall it from CD (not found for
some reason) or via FTP (not found on server etc), I found a pristine copy
of ports.txz and unpacked it (sigh, yet another compression scheme), after
renaming the old directory.

Anyway, what do I do now? Assume that many ports have been installed, and
that the databases etc are probably a dog's breakfast, per the conflicts
that I have posted here earlier. If it helps, I have a list of those
ports that were installed, and hopefully the dependencies will be taken
care of automagically.

Thanks.

Near the bottom of portmaster(8), there is a procedure entitled Using
portmaster to do a complete reinstallation of all your ports. I have
used that procedure (with some variations) over the years -- e.g.,
migrating from 8.x - 9.x, then 9.x to 10.x; more recently, I extracted
bits of it to migrate from stable/10 i386 - stable/10 amd64 [gory
details at
http://www.catwhisker.org/~david/FreeBSD/convert_i386_amd64.html].

Based on my experiences doing those, I *think* that using that procedure
as a basis (and adapting in slightly) may serve you well. (Note that as
of this writing, that procedure still refers to the old pkg_* tools. So
instead of pkg_delete -a I used pkg delete -fa.)

One of the first things, though, would be to determine if you'r going to
use pre-built packages (and if so, built by whom) or build the ports
yourself.

The procedure I used in the above-cited article -- once I finished
bumping into issues caused by my ignorance (or other oddities) -- turned
out to work quite well -- but I was only able to accomplish it because I
had available hardware to perform the package-building (using poudriere)
for me.

portmaster itself is merely a shell script, so it has no dependencies
on (other) ports; installing it on a pristine system will bring in pkg,
but no others.

Note, too: after generating the list of 'installed ports (which may
look incomplete: it doesn't actually list all of your inistalled ports,
but rather, a subset that is necessary to get all of them installed), I
finid it useful to trim the list further and re-order the list (so that
more critical, smaller port -- such as sudo and tmux -- are built before
more complicated ports cause problems). One of the things I typically
do on non-development machines during this pass is remove ports from the
list that are obviously only build dependencies -- autoconf*;
automake*; nearly all devel/* ports -- as the installation of the ports
I really use directly will bring the others in if they are actually needed.

If at all possible, of course, make a good (tested!) backup before you
do the pkg delete -af. :-}

Peace,
david

I'll cron the svn update to coincide. That should make the race window
narrow enough to be mostly avoided.

With pkg 1.3 we will add some metadata to the repo specifying the revision used
We also to plan to add a ports package so pkg install ports will install the
ports tree used to build the packages

Oh nice! Exposing the revision number would be a really useful bit of
info. I could easily grab that and feed it to svn.

Keeping my ports tree in sync with the public pkg repo

2014-06-12 Thread Darren Pilgrim
Is there a way to determine the ports tree revision used for the current
public pkg repo?

Like any moderately complex system, I have a mix of stock and custom
packages. When I go to update stuff, I'll check out the current ports
tree and fire off poudrerie to build what I need. There's a race
condition: if more than a day or two elapse between when the public pkg
repo was last refreshed and when I check out the ports tree, there's a
good chance the version in ports and version of the available package
don't match. This is particularly true right now because of all the
movement from staging and other recent framework changes.

The result is portmaster gives me hell. I'll go to rebuild, say, perl
or php using portmaster and it will tell me something I've installed
from pkgs needs to be updated. I then go check pkg update and it says
it's up to date.

There are workarounds, but pkg lock shell games are fragile and I really
dislike having stock builds of libxml, numerous build tools, vim-lite,
etc. in my private repos. If I could check out the same ports tree the
package building cluster used, I'd avoid the issue entirely.

pkg has screwed up my ports

2012-10-15 Thread Jamie Paul Griffin
This morning I updated my ports tree using svn, then ran portmaster -L
to check outdated ports. portmaster was one of those ports.

I then ran portmaster -a . it prompted me to select options from the
blue options screen, I selected pkgng support.

Anyway, the update of portmaster failed. I ran pkg2ng, it went through
all of my ports, etc. Just following instruction that were printed to
the terminal.

It has screwed up spamassassin to the point where I cannot even install
it now; either using make install clean, pkg install ... , portmaster
mail/p5-Mail-SpamAsassin, etc, etc. There may be others too, I can't
tell right now because my entire ports system has been corrupted and
therefore rendered useless.

i'm on a different machine now so I don't have all the errors i've been
getting available right now

i Think i'm going to have remove every single port and start again. I'm
really peed off about this. Moving forward and progressing is fine, but
there are clearly plenty of problems with this new pkg mechanism. I've
been sat here all day trying to fix the mess and i'm no further forward.
A total waste of day. Aren't these things tested properly before forcing them
upon us users - it's us that suffer. I've had to take my mail server
offline and route mail to another whilst I get this sorted.

Surely someone else has had this issue today, or recently. ???

Sorry for this not being more clear. I will add a message in.

If you select PKGNG, the assumption is you have pkg installed and will
run pkg2ng to stop using the old /var/db/pkg|pkg_install format.

Selecting PKGNG option requires you run pkg2ng, otherwise portmaster
will think you have nothing installed.

Selecting PKGNG will not enable pkgng, but adding WITH_PKGNG=yes in your

I'm pretty dismayed by the ignore it and it'll go away attitude toward

Of course, I'm not a lawyer either, and this is not intended as legal
advice. It's just an expression of frustration at the way everybody
seems to think intentionally ignoring licensing will somehow make
copyright and license claims invalid.

No, I'm aware that in some parts of the world, law practice is far away

However, I think that anyone who tries to _do_ something should have the

No, we should not use this. Not just because of the potential of having
to check and correct every port when GPLv4 appears. In my book,
licenced under GPLv2 or GPLv3 is something fundamentally different
from licenced under GPLv2 or any later version. The licence framework
should be able to make this distinction.

Another issue is that the licence infrastructure seems to be making
statements about the licence of an application, while the committers
only tend to look at individual source packages. What would be the
licence of an application whose source is published under BSD licence,
but that is linked with both GPv3 and OpenSSL-libraries?

I tend to agree with Doug and others that it is probably better to scrap
the entire idea. Making assertions about licences and what is accepted

I hope this effort is not completely abandoned since it does seem to
offer an easy way to get a general sense of the license status of a
system, jail or vm. What about a more explicitly passive approach that
does not make assertions about an application's overall license (c.f.
linking issues) or the user's acceptance but just makes such license
files as do exist easier to find?

If such a simple license tracking feature is useful (even if not
suitable for management, compliance, budgeting, license acceptance and
the like) then something that would grab the locations of license
documents in a port's source files and copies the relevant files into a
default license location /usr/local/share/licenses/port/ would be
enough. Would this ports knob feature (LICENSE_=) disappear if the
project were scrapped?

I doubt this simpler approach would be ITIL compliant ;) but since
that is not a goal and the bulk of anything to do with licenses involves
lawyers anyway, the ports/pkg system should probably try to do as little
as possible regarding claims and interpretation. Surely keeping copies
of licenses in an easy to find location doesn't equate to making any
legal claim ? NB: I am not a lawyer :)

cheers,

ps:

ls -1 /usr/local/share/licenses/*/LICENSE | wc -l
 221
ls -1 /usr/local/share/licenses/*/* | grep -E MIT|BSD |wc -l
 86
ls -1 /usr/local/share/licenses/*/* | grep -E LGPL*|GPL* |wc -l
 116

Of course, the above system has 1200 ports installed so there's a ways
to go before one could say tracking was happening :)

Personally I think we should scrap the whole thing. It is an interesting

In my not-a-lawyer view, I wonder if it puts some responsibility for
accurately representing a license on FreeBSD and the ports system. We
used this software because the FreeBSD ports system said the license was

Adding licensing info to my ports: some questions

2012-01-16 Thread Nikola Lečić
Hello,

I'm about to add licensing info to all my 25 ports. I hoped that a
chapter dedicated to licensing issues would appear in the Porters
Handbook, but since this hasn't happened so far, I decided to try
without it.

Here are my questions; sorry if some of them are already answered in
the past.

1) Will licensing section ever appear in the Porters Handbook? :-)

2) Should I mark the ports that explicitly state X11 with MIT?

3) Intentionally no difference between 2- and 3-clause BSD?

4) How should I state eg. LGPL21 or any later version or GPL2
   only i.e. no later version?

5) What if licensing info differs for entire source file and actually
installed files? In textproc/kmfl-sil-ezra source file, the font is
licensed OFL and the keyboard layout X11; the port installs only
keyboard layout. Should I state just MIT in the Makefile?

6) I need three new items added to the licenses database because they
should be considered as 'known' licenses and thus belonging to the
'Case 1' in bsd.licenses.mk. There are: Common Public License, SIL
Open Font License and Public Domain [non-license]. I'd gladly
submit a PR, but I'd appreciate if someone could check this first,
   especially _LICENSE_GROUPS_* including COPYFREE status.

   6a) CPL:
  _LICENSE_NAME_CPL=  Common Public License
  _LICENSE_GROUPS_CPL=FSF

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_Public_License
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/license-list.en.html#CommonPublicLicense10

As for this license, the software in question (textproc/teckit)
is licensed GLPLv2.1+ or CPLv0.5+. However, the CPL version
approved on gnu.org, used in NetBSD... is 1.0. Should we make
any difference between CPL versions because of this? Or just to
  use LICENSE_TEXT?

(Btw, the Wikipedia article on CPL states that this license is
  OSI-approved, but I can't find it here:
  http://www.opensource.org/licenses/category.)

   6b) OFL:
  _LICENSE_NAME_OFL=  SIL Open Font License
  _LICENSE_GROUPS_OFL=FSF OSI

 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SIL_Open_Font_License
 http://www.gnu.org/licenses/license-list.en.html#SILOFL
 http://www.opensource.org/licenses/OFL-1.1

   6c) PD[?]:
  _LICENSE_NAME_PD=   Public Domain
  _LICENSE_GROUPS_PD= FSF GPL

 http://www.gnu.org/licenses/license-list.en.html#PublicDomain

http://cvsweb.netbsd.org/bsdweb.cgi/pkgsrc/licenses/public-domain?only_with_tag=MAIN

It seems like it would be useful to have a public domain category of

shouldn't say anything about it on this list. The applicability of

 maintainership ...

If you are stepping up to do the work that is great and we thank

and I was specifically told this in response to my
efforts to identify ports that have a lot of users.

Merely finding popular ports does not help. We need people
who have the time and energy to maintain the ports.

My reading was that Charlie _was_ stepping up to do the work --
all 3 parts of it. Since there weren't any unmaintained ports that
he personally uses, he was volunteering to take on some that he does
_not_ personally use, as a service to the community. In order to
achieve The Greatest Good For The Greatest Number (TM), he wanted
a way to identify popular unmaintained ports. His proposed method
of finding out _where his efforts would do the most good for the
community_ was met not with constructive suggestions, nor even mere
indifference, but with outright hostility. Can you blame him for
getting fed up, especially since this is apparently not the first
time he has encountered that sort of attitude from those who should
know better?

I do not want to say that we are a volunteer project and as such
are forgiven however such a model does change how we must do
 things ...

FreeBSD is indeed a volunteer project. Driving away would-be
volunteers like Charlie -- and others who will now hesitate to take
on port maintainership after reading how he has been treated -- is
not in the Project's best interest. I think several contributors
to this thread owe both Charlie and the community an apology.

O-o-ok... philosophical differences.

audio/mcplay and the 3 multimedia-related ports, + fbpanel, have many
users, AFAIK, and require much works. We need to someone to take them
soon.

I don't know what you mean by requires much works. The only ones of
these ports that are not up-to-date are xquote and nettle.

There is already an open PR to update nettle. All it needs is some
attention from a committer.

Frankly, xquote should be deprecated, as it's an old-style Motif app
that's so ugly I'll bet no one uses it. I only took it (and the related
xinvest) because they got reinstated after I pointed out they were still
fetchable at a new location.

Everything else is in good shape.

I've been told that we shouldn't be looking for reasons to save any
unmaintained port, and I was specifically told this in response to my
efforts to identify ports that have a lot of users. So I don't think
current policy supports the conclusion that we need to find someone to
take them soon.

There, in a nutshell, you have the philosophical disagreement which led
to my decision to be done with ports.

If the powers-that-be want to deprecate all of these and lighten the
load on the system and themselves, I no longer care. I know how to
download a tarball and run through the configure/make/install routine,
so I'll still be able to run the software I need. I thought I'd lend a
hand to those who don't have those skills, but it doesn't seem that this
contribution is welcomed or appreciated. There are too many ports!

idea 1: can the 'summer of code' guys help us out with this.

idea 2. why oh why can we not live with the fbsd and debian

the reason i've kept my domain here at home is because i like the
flexibility i see. but keeping ports current is getting to be
impossible. there are too many distros of every open src os and
maybe if net and free [RE]-hjoined arms that 3rd idea would work.

i'm sure that many of you guys kno w that aristotle was a polymath;
he was as sharp as anybody i have ever studied. his highest
'virtue' was pragmatism.given the headaches with maintaining
ports, and much more, isn' t it time to look in new directions?

idea 4. axe the number of ports. if person x or y want to maintain
a port of his ow n , outstanding. he can post a note to the lists.

idea 5. beging a completely separate, independent group for
orphaned ports [ for free, net, debian, ubuntu, redhat, foobar

a last note: i started out as a porter. loved i t and excelled at

There, in a nutshell, you have the philosophical disagreement which led
to my decision to be done with ports.

I skimmed the entire conversation this morning. The summary is you have
an opinion that apparently nobody else shares.

I maintain 7 ports. The majority of these ports had already been
deleted years ago, or should have already been deprecated. So after
years, somebody (me) showed up with enough motivation to resurrect the
ports. That's all people are saying: If the port is important enough,
somebody will step up to save it or resurrect it. If that doesn't
happen, then it doesn't deserve to be in the tree once it doesn't build
anymore.

If the powers-that-be want to deprecate all of these and lighten the

Obviously the maintenance of ports is appreciated and welcomed. You're
just sulking because your idea of identifying popular ports wasn't met
with enthusiasm. If the port really is popular, somebody will take it
over, I'm sure.

I don't know you, or your history of contributions, etc, so all I can
judge is what I read today. I don't think this reaction shows a lot of
character.

Anyway, I'm sure your wish of returning all the ports to nobody will be
granted and life will go on. As a FreeBSD user, thanks for effort that
you did in the past.

John

No, it's more than that. I got the distinct impression that many of the
committers would be unhappy if I took maintainership of some of the
ports I might identify as popular, because it would interfere with
their plans to trim the portstree.

Re-read the thread. At every point I'm talking about looking for ports
I (and others) might want to maintain, as a service to their users. Now
ask yourself why I've been getting so much resistance to that, when we
keep hearing how deprecated ports can be easily resurrected if someone
steps up to maintain them?

Every response from the committers ignored what I said I was trying to
do, and instead repeated the same old arguments about stale,
unfetchable, broken or superceded ports. That talking points response
tells me that they didn't want me doing what I was doing to buck an
already-established policy of letting unmaintained ports die unless and

Today wasn't the first time I've had this discussion with them. But it

There are two things. Becoming a maintainer seems to be really easy.

Having one's PRs committed is a bit more difficult and sometimes
takes 4-6 weeks (I had a case recently with 155399 and 155400).

Maybe, if maintainer can somehow easily become ports committer,
this hurdle might be lower ?

I concur with Erik. I think you are totally missing the point of the
original post. The desired wish was to remove dead ports that could not
be fetched, or would not build. Possibly, even superseded ports;
although that was not specifically mentioned I don't believe. In to
many of those cases those ports have no formal maintainer.
Unfortunately, some do. In any case, it was proposed that those said
ports be removed. Ports that are current would not be affected. As you
stated, your ports are current and in working order. This proposal
would therefore not effect you unless I am also misreading the intent
of the proposal.

If after this thread you still want to drop maintership I'd like the following:
 deskutils/teapot
 math/ised
 security/ccrypt
 sysutils/moreutils
 sysutils/moreutils-parallel

I've been told that we shouldn't be looking for reasons to save any
 unmaintained port,

What you have been told is
no-one steps up to (a) fix the problem, (b) take maintainership and
(c) _continue_ with maintainership. Well, in that case, the port does
not _deserve_ to live. After all, no-one cares about it. If they
did, they'd take care of (a) thru (c) above.

If you are stepping up to do the work that is great and we thank you
for that! We we don't want is people who only volunteer for part (a)
and don't continue with (b) and (c).

This is because the work for fixing these ports falls on the rest of
the community, and mainly the committers if it were to break again or
when making sweeping changes to the tree. A large amount of the work
that goes into things like a gmake or autotools upgrade is fixing
individual ports that broke. If people step up to continue to maintain
the now deprecated ports I see nothing wrong with helping them to do
so. If that someone is you - even better!

and I was specifically told this in response to my
efforts to identify ports that have a lot of users.

Merely finding popular ports does not help. We need people who have
the time and energy to maintain the ports.
I do not want to say that we are a volunteer project and as such are
forgiven however such a model does change how we must do things. We
can not assign ports to people, even committers, unless they agree
to do the work.

Furthermore we can use maintainership to judge popularity if
indirectly and imperfectly. If no one steps up to do the work of all
the port's users it is not that popular.

If you are the one stepping up to do the work I would urge you
continue! However merely pointing at the port and saying this needs
to be fixed won't help as someone still has to fix it.

So I don't think current policy supports the conclusion that we need to find
 someone to take them soon.

The policy is one of passiveness and this seems to be the main
difference between the others and the you. Correct me if I am wrong
but you believe that we should be trying as hard as we can to find
somehow or someone to save these ports. Others believe that if someone
wants to they can step up and do the work to save these ports.

There are two things. Becoming a maintainer seems to be really easy.

Becoming a maintainer requires that you commit to do the work to
ensure that a certain program works on FreeBSD. How easy this is
depends on you.

Having one's PRs committed is a bit more difficult and sometimes

I'm aware of this. What I see is that only a few ports committer

me out as well, if I had to do it 8-}

So, if the maintainers of the small leaf ports would be able
to commit their work themselves, it would free the ports committers

Would this work ?

If you look through this list's archives I actually proposed this idea
myself once ;-) The problem is that (a) often maintainers don't do the
work 100% well. I am not knocking everyone - but just because you
_say_ you will do the work doesn't mean you _will_ do it. Furthermore
becoming a committer implies a certain level of trust beyond just you
can submit patches as you get shell access to the FreeBSD machines
and other such things.

You may want to mention that you use said three machines in the PR -
it would be of service. Different committers have differing policies
for what they will commit. Some will accept that, others will want
tinderbox logs, and others will always test every patch themselves.

Does using a tinderbox make a large difference ?
Using a tinderbox ensures that a clean build works (ie that there
are no missing dependencies).

I agree, the infrastructure is massive!

23,000 ports held together with Makefiles - I'm still surprised it works ;)

No, no and no. If you have a copy of the upstream package the port was
based upon and it is open source, you can 'fork' it. Create a project
on sourceforge, or Berlioz, or somewhere, put the package there, announce it
get some people together to maintain it. That has the advantage of having
FreeBSD minded people maintaing it upstream. That's all. Easy Peasy.
That's for unfetchable ports or even superceded ports. If you prefer
an older program than a supposed newer suggested replacement, you can
fork the older program. That's how it works.

(Actually the policy is that unmaintained and non-working ports should
be let to die, unless somebody steps up to fix the port and take
  maintainership.)

Exactly.

Nobody is stopping you from assuming maintainership of one or more of
those unmaintained ports, and thus preventing them from being removed.

I concur with Erik. I think you are totally missing the point of the
original post. The desired wish was to remove dead ports that could not

Right.

I think it is important to clean up ports because otherwise there is a
big burden on the FreeBSD organization, and also on each individual
user, when they upgrade their machine. I think on the other hand that
some ports are especially important, and don't always receive the care
they need, for reasons that i don't know. I have taken some time to look
at some ports in the lang category that are unmaintained or are
severely old.

I have noted that eiffel 13a is deprecated and has an expiration date.
Indeed i have found old copies of this software, and it seems that the
people doing it have disappeared someway. However at least one is now
listed as contributor to gobo-eiffel
http://sourceforge.net/projects/gobo-eiffel/
which is not a freebsd port.
There is the official eiffelstudio port, which has a valid download
link but no maintainer, and smarteiffel which is maintained.

I am more interested by the cmucl lisp compiler. In the ports we can
find cmucl 19f which is maintained by Martin Cracauer, but is already
quite old, and there is no maintainer for cmucl-extras. In fact the
cmucl project does the work of providing precompiled stuff for various
architectures (the lisp compiler is written in lisp so can only be
compiled by a recent enough precompiled compiler, anyways) and in
particular one finds freebsd binaries here:
http://common-lisp.net/project/cmucl/downloads/snapshots/2011/04/
These binaries are compiled on freebsd_8.1, and there are two versions
the unicode version and the non-unicode version, plus the cmucl-extra
(localized messages, an adapted editor, called hemlock plus some
goodies).

So my point is, how is it that cmucl freebsd version finds care and love
in the cmucl community, but that this does not extend to an adequate
place in the freebsd ports?

The other big lisp from the same ancestry, sbcl is better maintained,
since the last version is 1.0.47, while freebsd is at 1.0.43, that is 6
months old. These lisps are *very* important for their use in the CAS
software maxima, which is actively developed and used by a lot of people
(in ancient times the traditional compiler for maxima was gcl but it
seems it doesn't work well nowadays, and clisp is far too slow). But
they are also important for many other uses, and at this point i see an
important omission in the ports system. The standard way nowadys to
install lisp packages is to use quicklisp
http://www.quicklisp.org/beta/
and after that hundreds of applications can be installed automatically
in the same way as cpan does for perl modules. Instead there are a
select few lisp applications in the ports, which have a clisp and a sbcl
slave port. This is strange.

Yes! It finds hiccups in pkg-plist (very difficult to notice

Stepping down from my ports

2010-08-06 Thread Frank Steinborn
Dear porters,

unfortunately I need to step down from all the FreeBSD
ports that I currently maintain, namely:

audio/ices0
audio/linux-shoutcast
audio/shoutcast
benchmarks/nbench
devel/libgee
games/avanor
games/crimson
games/wrogue
irc/minbif
misc/apparix
multimedia/gpodder
net-im/pino
net-mgmt/nagios-check_ice
net-mgmt/nagios-check_nick
net-mgmt/nipper
net/p5-Event-tcp
security/py-otr

Sorry - I don't take this easily. I really enjoyed working with the
community but due to a new employment and many other changes in my
life I'm currenty too much under water to find the time to maintain
these.

I don't like stupidly approving patches from people that would be
better maintainers than me anyway...

I will keep maintaining comms/p5-SMS-SMS77 because upstream stopped
development and I heavily depend on this port.

I surely will be back some day picking up a port here and there, but
for now: pleae pick up these small, poor ports and treat them with
love :)

Thanks,
Frank

Actually, I'm thinking about dropping support for fox12 :)

I'll DEPRECATE it and remove it in a few weeks. In the process, I'll
drop x11-toolkits/fxscintilla-fox12, x11-toolkits/ruby-fox12, and I'll
update editors/mondrian to use fox16. That should happen seemingly
painlessly :)
