Re: Mysql Client and Freebsd 5.2-RELEASE

2004-07-14 Thread Jon Lyons
Thanks, I'm planning on downgrading to 4.9 or 4.8
when my new server arives. Since the problem can be
recreated on other machines I know it's not
hardward/networking issues. Just thought someone might
have a "fix" besides upgrading.. :) The alpha version
was from the ports...

Mysql Client and Freebsd 5.2-RELEASE

2004-07-13 Thread Jon Lyons
Hi,

I've been trying without success to get the mysql
client(any version) built from ports collection to
connect to a remote mysql server, get "Lost connection
to MySQL server". I've read the mysql site, google,
but it's only a problem on my 5.2 machine. Locally the
client works fine, and other machines are able to
access the server. On my Freebsd 4.8 machine built
with the same verion/port the connection works fine.
It's not a mysql permessions problem/network problem.
Has anybody got the client to function correctly on
Freebsd 5.2?

Btw, I've built a generic 4.8 machine and the client
works, then rebuilt the same machine with 5.2 and it
doesn't

nagios-new# mysql -h 10.128.18.202 -u monty -p
Enter password:
Welcome to the MySQL monitor. Commands end with ; or
\g.
Your MySQL connection id is 216 to server version:
4.1.0-alpha

Type 'help;' or '\h' for help. Type '\c' to clear the
buffer.

mysql> use nagios;
ERROR 2013 (HY000): Lost connection to MySQL server
during query

2003-10-29 Thread Jon Lyons

Hey,

Does anyone on the FreeBSD list use arpwatch & arpsnmp? Arpwatch works great, however
I’d liked to use arpsnmp to monitor remote sites. The arpfetch script gives me the
output below, however when I attempt to import that with arpsnmp I get syntax errors.
I think it has something to do with the format, however I cannot figure what it should
be.

Any help would be greatly appreciated…(btw please cc: me, I’m no longer on the Freebsd
list)

ip-mib::ipnettomediaphysaddress.4.18.13.24.129:=:string:::1:c9:30:c8:1
ip-mib::ipnettomediaphysaddress.4.19.13.24.130:=:string:::a0:c9:da:d2:81
ip-mib::ipnettomediaphysaddress.4.19.13.24.135:=:string5e::1:1

ip-mib::ipnettomediaphysaddress.4.19.13.24.156:=:string5e::1:1

ip-mib::ipnettomediaphysaddress.4.19.13.24.158:=:string:::a0:8e:32:8d:be

However I when try to use this output with arpsnmp I get;

bash# arpsnmp output
file_loop: output:1 syntax error #1

Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!
