problem with vim!
I'm having a major issue with vim. I'm using v6.4 I believe. The problem is... with my old version of vim, when I edited .php files it would auto-indent html elements, so that it looked something like... html head title etc. and it would line up all the closing elements automatically. now however... it will not do this when I edit php files! it will do it for html files though. So my question is how do I resolve this? In essence, I guess what I would like is for .php files to have same indent / color / etc as .html, along with also having indents / color / etc for .php files. Any help is very much appreciated! ___ freebsd-questions@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Re: Creating mp3
Yes, mp3 does suck. Vorbis, AAC, and WMA are superior. Vorbis is better at all bitrates, not just above some magical number. I use my PDA to play files when I'm out and about, $80 for a cheap one on eBay. As you said though, there might be a few reasons for someone to use mp3. There are lots of cute little gagdets out there that support mp3 and wma, and not as many that support vorbis. This is changing though. Quintin Benjamin Walkenhorst wrote: Hello, On Thu, 12 Feb 2004 23:51:19 -0600 Quintin Riis [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: mp3 is outdated, use vorbis. I wouldn't say so. Unless you show me an affordable hardware-vorbis-player. There's plenty of CD-Players that will also play mp3-CDs, just like most standalone-DVD-players. Also, I hear, XMMS does not support vorbis. I don't know for sure, though. Furthermore, mp3 offers suffcient audio-quality (if your audio-source is of good quality and your encoder is good) for most circumstances - Vorbis, as far as I know, offers superior audio-quality only at bitrates above 160 kbps. And at that bitrates, I don't think I could tell mp3 from vorbis, at least not using my ES1371-based sound-card and my cheap active speakers. Just to make things clear, there's *nothing* wrong with vorbis. If you care for audio-quality primarily and your source offers that degree of quality, go for vorbis! But there *are* reasons for still using mp3, and it's not exactly like mp3 sucks. =) abcde is nice, as is cdparanoia AFAIK, abcde only serves as a frontend for various other tools (cdparanoia, lame, oggenc, ...). Re: One of your employees are very rude.
Guy, we have nothing to do with IRC channels, and if you look at the website, you will notice that they are not an official support avenue. Re: CPU usage goes way up on 5.1 when memory is added
Install GENERIC kernel and see if the problem persists. Quintin Richard G. Roberto wrote: Hi, I've been running 5.1-RELEASE for quite some time on my dual PIII 333Mhz Micron PC with 384MB of RAM and 670MB of swap. Its a little low on memory for what I'm now doing with it though, so I added 256MB of RAM. The new RAM gets recognized, and there are no obvious errors on the console or in the logs, but every little thing drives the CPU utilization through the roof and the system is unusable. Even just typing man ls triggers it, never mind trying to run ssh. I remove the RAM, and it goes back to normal. I'm using a kernel with these relevent settings: cpu I686_CPU options SCHED_ULE options COMPAT_43 options COMPAT_FREEBSD4 options _KPOSIX_PRIORITY_SCHEDULING options SMP options APIC_IO options LAZY_SWITCH There are other settings, but these are the only ones that might be related, I'm guessing. Has anyone seen anything similar to this? I've searched google as well as the mailing list archives and can't really find anything similar. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Re: choice of boot manager
LILO is the best in my opinion. Quintin [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Good morning, FreeBSD enthusiasts. I am planning a multiple operating system installation on a Compaq Proliant 5000. The purpose of the installation is hobbyist and instructional. The computer does not provide network management services. The proposed operating systems are Windows 95, FreeBSD, and Windows 2000 Server. A fourth operating system may be added at a later date. Have you had any experience with any of the following boot manager programs that may suggest their relative applicability to this project? The boot manager programs I am considering include the following: LILO, GRUB, MATT, NTLDR/BOOT.INI, RANISH, and the boot loader that comes with FreeBSD, the name of which I do not know. Any information about positive or negative experiences with any of these programs in a multiple operating system configuration would be appreciated. Fortunately, Atlanta has some good stores--I've been wanting to pop down to the one by Tech for a while now, and this is as good an excuse as any. This brings me back to the modem question. I can type in the entries from ppp.conf and ppp.log--or I suppose I could try to learn to write to the FAT partition elsewhere on this drive, which I'm not unwilling to do (shouldn't be hard, which is what I thought about the modem.)
