Really, there's a reason why the default setup does NOT run as root. looks like i figured the problem. i think my freeradius has upograded to version 2 (more advanced, yet its confusing. cant get pam auth to work) by the way im using freeradius 1.6 (my favorite) . is it hard to migrate to version 2? If you're being stubborn, refuse to read any docs, refuse to listen to advice given, then yes, it's the hardest thing in the world.
