Start at boot Freeradius

2008-04-25 Thread Gustavo Chavelas
Hello again to all.

I'm very happy why my FR it's working fine again and I have Vista support
too. Thank a lot of Alan Dekok, I was installed the 1.7 version. Later I
will try to upgrade, but at this moment it's all. FR is the best.

Now, , I have maybe a fool question but I need help again.

When I try to add my FR at BOOT from my Linux with chkconfig, it's sends and
follow error:
# service radiusd does not support chkconfig

If I run manually # radiusd - alone or with -X -A, etc it work fine.

How can I to add FR at boot?

Thanks for your answers to all.

Gustavo.

When I try to add my FR at BOOT from my Linux with chkconfig, it's sends
and
 follow error:
 # service radiusd does not support chkconfig

have you put the radiusd init script into eg /etc/init.d/ ?

Re: clients can't authenticate in FR 2.0.3

2008-04-18 Thread Gustavo Chavelas
I have tried to configure the 2.0.3 because they said to me in the forum
that the VISTA works with a version superior to the 2.
With version 2.0.3 or the 2.0.2 it does not allow me to connect nothing.
Can't connect XP, VISTA or CE clients.
I cannot connect anything.

I will try with 1.1.4 or latest version.

Thanks

Gustavo.

My windows XP and CE clients connect without problems, but I need
urgently to connect a Windows Vista clients too.

You can try upgrading to 1.1.7, which should work with Vista, and will
be compatible with the configuration you have for 1.1.3.

I'm not sure why 2.0.3 wouldn't work. What happens when a Vista
client tries to connect?

radius.conf, eap.conf, users, clients.conf and when I run the program it
 work fine.

With a new versions I make same configurations but not work.

?I think that the SSL certificates can be create alone by the server?

take the certificates from the old version and put them on the new version.

Hi.

I have the same problem and it's very strange.

In other server I have CentOS 5 with freeradius-1.1.3-1.2.el5 (rpm) and its
working without problem. My WindowsXP and WindowsCE clients connect fine.

But I need to upgrade my version why my Windows VISTA clients can't connect.

I'm installing the 2.0.3 version of freeradius but with a TARBALL file.

I'm configuring the freeradius as old version, I don't copy the
configurations files, I configure again the files.
But when I to run radiusd -X my clients not connect.

Sends an error of authentification.

Someone know why?

Thanks for your answer.

It's very strange. I don't delete anything.
Just modified the option in eap md5 to peap, but when I try to reload the
radius with radiusd -X the program can't work and send it errors.

I have another test server, and same configurations work fine.
I have copied the folder raddb that work fine to my production server, and
crash, can't work again.

I was formatted my server, install the freeradius, I was configured my
options and can't work again.

If I change the option peap to md5, freeradius work fine. But if try to

Do you have any suggest?

You have broken eap.conf. Go back to the default and try again. Read
instructions in the file first and *don't* delete anything you are not

Just modified the option in eap md5 to peap, but when I try to reload
the radius with radiusd -X the program can't work and send it errors.

Then the server was built *without* SSL support. PEAP needs SSL, so...

I have another test server, and same configurations work fine.
I have copied the folder raddb that work fine to my production server,

The issue isn't the configuration files, but the libraries.

I was formatted my server, install the freeradius, I was configured my

Install the OpenSSL libraries header files. Then re-build FreeRADIUS.
