Re: Wireless Mouse Options for PowerPC G4
Hi, I've been using the Logitech M505 for at least a year now and happy with it. I got from Staples for about $20 on sale. It has been working great on: iBook G4 933Mhz, PowerBook G4 867Mhz, PowerMac G4 8ooMhz Dual. OSX 10.4 and 10.5 I think I've used it with Classic, but I'm not sure that I have. I dont see why it wouldn't work though since with Classic OS-X still handles all the I/O. P.S. I dont think the scroll wheel has ever worked for me (any mouse) under classic. Manoah F. Does anyone have a source/recommendation for a wireless laser mouse that will work on my G4 MDD running OS 10.5.8, OS 10.4.11, and Classic? You made me think, about the scroll wheel, it would be enabled using the suitable driver (of course), or USB Overdrive. I've been using a Wacom Graphire tablet+mouse set for years, from MacOS 8.6 and up, and it all worked perfectly through the years (thanks to Wacom drivers, of course). What I want to add now is that, for Microsoft mice, I think one can still find the Intellipoint (or whatever is called) software for OS9, thus enabling all the mouse's features under OS9 and Classic. BTW, here it is: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=4355 It doesn't say which mice is compatible with, but I presume basic mice are. NB: I'm not pushing MS because I love it :-) but I'm not prejudiced against it either. I like Logitech products more, but their Mac driver support has been lacking sometimes. -- -- You received this message because you are a member of G-Group, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs. It handles most standard scroll wheels beautifully. -- personal: http://www.cameronkaiser.com/ -- Cameron Kaiser * Floodgap Systems * www.floodgap.com * ckai...@floodgap.com -- Garbage in -- gospel out - -- -- You received this message because you are a member of G-Group, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs.
