Re: QS2002 shuts down when sleep selected

2017-02-13 Thread 'Gary Brown' via G-Group
My QS 933 shuts down a few mins after going to sleep.
Have tried various things and checked all settings related to power and
shutdown etc. but been unable to resolve. Note I only use OS9.
I reckon its a power supply issue...

 Hi all,

 Quicksilver 2002 800 single cpu
 Mac os 10.4.11 Tiger
 172GB startup drive
280GB additional data drive (not part of startup user but
 includes
 another user also on Tiger)

Recently this G4 has decided to shutdown when requested to
 sleep.

Occasionally it shuts down when not requested (while not
 working/
 active).

I have replaced the battery, tried different startup drives,
 and...

removed power plug, removed battery, pressed power button,
 pressed
 smu/pmu/? button on motherboard ONCE...

Apple 17" ADC replaced by an old 15" non-adc screen (as it
 seems to
be associated with sleeping - a timed screen sleep causes
 shutdown)...

all to no avail - it still cannot sleep but insists on a
 shut down.

 Any ideas anyone?

 Regards

 Ged Cornish

Re: PowerMac G4 Single 1.25 (June 2003 Mirror Drive Doors) Software Restore Discs

2016-06-10 Thread 'Gary Brown' via G-Group

I have the opposite problem... I managed to aquire a sealed doc pack but don't
know what Mac it is for. However, I *think* it is for the 1.25 SP MDD 2003
model based on the evidence.

The Setup Guide specs mention 1MB L3 Cache, PC2700 RAM, an ADC/DVI AGP4* card,
and 2 FW400 ports, and is dated 2003.

DVD 1 is Z691-4872-A entitled 'Power Mac G4 Software Install and Restore 1 of
2' and includes OS 10.3.2 & AHT 2.0.2 according to the label.

DVD 2 is 2Z691-4873-A entitled 'Power Mac G4 Software Install and Restore 2 of
2'

These disks are dated 2004. I can't tell much about the contents from OS9. Disk
1 appears to be the OS X installer, but all I can see on disk 2 is a bunch of
PDFs.
