Should use Disk Utility to restore from the back up, time mchine to go back to last one in July or just erase and reinstall? None of the above. Boot your 10.5 Leopard DVD and from the Utilities menu select Reset Password and then select the correct HD and reset the password. This will reset the admin user password for everything except the login keychain. You'll need to know the old password to reset the login keychain, and if you don't know it, simply delete the entire login keychain and the new one will use the new password you just set using the DVD. In the lefthand column highlight the keychain called Login and Control- click or right-click on it to get the contextual drop down menu and select delete keychain login. In case you're nervous that this is the correct action, here's the Apple KBA on this subject: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1631 Good luck! --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed Low End Mac's G3-5 List, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs.
