I have two Pismos sitting around here, one with 512 MB and one with
128. I wanted to move 256 MB from one to the other in order to be able
to install OS 10.4 on it.
When I finished putting them both back together, neither one would
start up at all. Is there anything relatively simple that could have
caused this that I could fix? I tried reseating the CPU card in one of
them and pressing the reset button, but it still won't start.
I followed the procedures in the service manual, so I though I was
safe, making sure that both bays were empty before starting, and
unplugging the PRAM battery.
I wonder if I should just try putting back the memory the way it was.
I move CPU's and memory around fairly often in desktop Macs and PC's,
and I don't think I've ever had anything go this wrong.
