Re: G4 Quicksilver Sleep Settings - Mac OS X 10.5.8
That depends. putting the disks to sleep is a no-brainer...yes. Putting the system to sleep depends on why you're running it 24/7. If it's because it's running as a server (file, print, web, iTunes, etc) of some sort, then they systems should be kept awake. If not, just turn it off, save the energy. -- Bruce Johnson University of Arizona Is there a way with the OS or maybe a 3rd party app to have the system sleep at an exact time of day/night? And possibly specify certain other criteria. Like unless current user is active, if yes then wait for 30min inactivity... ? Maybe I'm asking for too much. System PreferencesEnergy Saver use the Schedule button to set the times and the function. That is what I was looking for thank you. But I was hoping for more options/functions. What if I happened to be using the computer at the time it is scheduled to shut down will it warn and give me the option to delay or cancel? I didn't even realize that schedule button was there how long has it been there? hmm just checked 10.4.11 its there guess I just never payed attention that much on the energy saver panel. lol Thank you Louis -- You received this message because you are a member of G-Group, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs.
