Believe it or not Be careful when you eat steam fish at the restaurants Dear friends, Just want to share a little bit of the sad story of my uncle in Kuantan that happened in the Lemon Grass Thai Cuisine, next to the Grand City Hotel at Jalan Beserah, Kuantan, last Monday night at 8pm . My uncle was having dinner with 2 of his friends, they ordered the steam fish and the waiter/waitress put some liquid gel (not candles) underneath the fish for heat up. This thing suddenly exploded and caused my uncle to be injured in his ear, face, arm, and thank God that he was wearing glasses (or else he would have been blinded). The restaurant manager was not responsible enough even to visit my uncle since this accident happened. We'll have to try to find ways to help my Uncle to claim some compensation as he might not be able to work for at least 6 months. I'm not trying to condemn the restaurant but just want you all to be extra careful next time when ordering - steamed food - safer that they take away the fire below. Ingatlah amaran Allah telah tiba - bahawa dunia akan meninggalkan kita dan kita sedang menuju alam lain iaitu alam kubur (barzakh) dan kemudian ke alam akhirat yang abadi. Di alam inilah kita akan hidup selama-lamanya. Kita akan tinggal di syurga atau neraka, bergantung kepada amalan semasa hidup di dunia. Allah bersifat dengan Rahman (Pengasih kepada semua) dan Rahim (Penyayang khusus kepada orang mukmin). Semasa peringkat bayi, Allah tugaskan kepada ibu bapa untuk menjaga dan membesarkan kita. Mereka mengasuh dan mendidik serta mentarbiah dengan akhlak dan agama. Semasa remaja, kita beramal dengan ilmu yang kita perolehi melalui usaha mereka dan juga masyarakat keliling. Ketika dewasa, kita pula menjadi pembimbing kepada anak cucu serta orang-orang lain. Ibarat pokok asalnya benih disirami air, kemudian membesar mengeluarkan bunga dan akhirnya mengeluarkan buah untuk dimakan oleh manusia dan haiwan. Tetapi apabila kita sudah tua dan tidak bermaya lagi, kita tidak begitu diperlukan. Kita mula disisih dari orangramai. Pergerakan kita terhad. Minda kita mula merosot. Ingatan sudah tidak begitu kuat. Kesihatan kita makin terjejas. Apakah ini menjadi tanda bahawa Allah sudah tidak menyayangi kita lagi? Tidak sekali-kali! Malahan kesayangan Allah tetap sama. Apabila Allah renggangkan manusia daripada kita, itu bermakna Allah hendakkan kita mendampingi diriNya. Supaya hati kita bertambah tertambat dan lebih bertawakkal kepadaNya saja. Penyerahan diri hanya kepada Allah apabila manusia sudah mula renggang dari kita. Masa tua kita banyak menyendiri dan tidak disibukkan dengan pelbagai urusan dunia. Jadi amatlah sesuai untuk kita melipatgandakan amalan sambil bertafakkur, berzikir dan muhasabah diri tentang amalan yang kita buat selama ini. Kita punya masa yang banyak untuk koreksi diri dan bertaubat.

On this order form, one writes her name, how many persons will be eating, your room number, time of delivery and etc. I hung it on the outside of my door for collection - it was a mistake! I had given someone all the ammunition that he would need. That someone went to my door-tag got my name and room number. And then told the front desk that he was my husband (remember my tag showed 1 female name) and that he needed a new key. The clerk WITHOUT ASKING FOR ID OR CALLING MY ROOM GAVE HIM MY ROOM KEY! At 2 a.m . I was awakened by my door opening (luckily I had put the security bar across) with a man's hand trying to figure out how to get the bar undone. I started yelling at him and told him that I was on the phone with the police. He shut the door and left. I called down to the lobby and spoke with the Front Desk - I wanted to alert Security about the incident. The hotel staff person said and I quote, 'Oops, sorry about that' then hung up. Well, let's just say that I was both terrified and angry the rest of the night. Next morning, I spoke with a Hotel Manager whose eyes almost popped out of his head when he learned that his clerk had given an unidentified stranger a key to my room. Am I glad that I am typing this to all of you with my 2 year old kid on my lap. I don't want to think of what might have happened if the safety chain/bar had not been secured.
