You have to buy one of the new residences. Visit the estate merchat in

[Audyssey] Dark Room Sex Game.

2009-02-07 Thread Phil Vlasak

Hi Folks,
I just added this to my games list,
A team of students from the I T University of Copenhagen's
Dark Room Project.
Home of the Dark Room Sex Game.
A multiplayer, erotic rhythm game, played only by audio and force feedback
cues.

The game can be played with Nintendo Wiimote controllers or a keyboard.
You work with your partner to find a mutual rhythm, then speed up gradually
until climax.
In four-player orgy mode, players swap partners randomly and compete to
reach orgasm the fastest.

Note they have downloads for Windows and Mac versions of the game.
The Windows version is about 15 MB.

Re: [Audyssey] work around for realtech hd cards

2009-02-07 Thread Thomas Ward

Hi,
That is exactly why the Genesis 3D engine, which Mysteries of the
Ancients is based on, defaults to software buffers. In my experience
software buffers are more reliable in games although at the cost of
memory, proformence, and some other things. Though on a system like mine
the trade off is nill.

stereo, so I changed it to use software buffers and that particular

wolf the ships wouldn't play left or right, they were always in the

software buffers fixed that problem too. There are some sideaffects to
doing this, like it causes other programs to sound retarded when the
game is running.

Hi.
This may help someone so I post it here.
this is to fix the issue with the realtech hd cards that come in
most new

laptops and desktops.
Although I can't fix every game with this card I can fix the gma
ones,

this applies to gtc lw and sod.
edit the sounds.ini in the dorectory the game is loaded in.
set sound buffers to 20, and then software buffers to 1.
Advantages.
faster and more responsive, at least on duel core systems with
2gb ram.

Disadvantages.
you don't get the cool hd audio effects.
However you get rid of the crackles, weird interpritations, etc.
the only way to really fix this is to update the drivers of the
hd card
however at least on my laptop this caused accessive crackling and
lockups

to the point where sound did not work right.
If you have a desktop I strongly recomend you ditch the hd card,
and get
something that actually works, better yet something that is not
hd audio

or realtech.

well all the gma games are on software buffers now.
the hd card does not cut it in here at least not nicely.
It all depends on the games in question.
I have set the buffers to as low as they go though everything runs quite nicely.

woo, impressive sounding stuff!! Dunno whether he's on the list or
whether his name just doesn't ring any bells for me because i'm new to
this scene, but whoever eliot simons is he's done you proud man, the
music is perfect!

One thing that occurred as I was listening is that perhaps the
footsteps could be a touch quieter, but more importantly the running
speed could be a bit slower. my thinking is that the current speed
suits a cartoon type fun sidescroller, if we were playing say
accessible sonic they'd be perfect, but the sound onn this title is a
long way from plinky plonky cartoon stuff, and a slightly slower run
would uphold the realism for me. Of course, that might mean shrinking
your maps to maintain fast paced gameplay or something else
nightmareish for you, i have no idea how it all works, but its just a
thought.

cheers, looking forward to playing this one!!

[Audyssey] Any Kingdom of Loathing players on here interested in Hobopolis runs?

2009-02-07 Thread Yohandy
Subject line is self explanatory. I'm interested in doing some hobopolis
runs with a limited number of people. The clan I'm currently in is huge and
distributing loot and doing nickle runs etc can become somewhat
overwhelming. If any KoL players with small clans have their own dungeon
open or need some help with funding, let me know. I was considering
creating my own, but if someone already has one then it won't be needed.

woo, impressive sounding stuff!!

Hi Scot,
Eliet Simons is not on this list. He is a sighted musician who makes his
living making music for movies, vidio games, commercials, etc. Even
better yet I got a pretty good deal on purchasing the music for the Tomb
Hunter games. I am fairly impressed myself.
Anyway, as for the footsteps I don't see a big problem slowing the
running steps down. That is something I will likely fine tune in the
beta stage when I am shutting down development and just work on tweeking
this and that to run smoother, better, whatever. Grin.

Gotcha, and I'm glad it wouldn't mean hours more coding for you hehe.
Sidescrollers don't grab me as a rule, but this might be the one that

Subject line is self explanatory. I'm interested in doing some hobopolis
runs with a limited number of people. The clan I'm currently in is huge
and distributing loot and doing nickle runs etc can become somewhat
overwhelming. If any KoL players with small clans have their own dungeon
open or need some help with funding, let me know. I was considering
creating my own, but if someone already has one then it won't be needed.

Hi Allen,
The software for the Phillips comes on a 3 inch minidisk. You might look
at the packaging again for the disk as chanses are good you might have
missed it on the first pass. I did just because I was looking for a full
sized cd, and my wife found it and told me what it was. If you can't
find the disk let me know and I'll zip it up for download.

hobopolis runs with a limited number of people. The clan I'm currently
in is huge and distributing loot and doing nickle runs etc can become
somewhat overwhelming. If any KoL players with small clans have their
own dungeon open or need some help with funding, let me know. I was
considering creating my own, but if someone already has one then it
won't be needed.
