No, I never did complete the Zork series. At least never completed all
the games. Mainly because I kept getting stuck on various puzzles.
However, I did have fun trying.

Hi,

No, I don't believe the interactive fiction archive has them do to
copyrights. Although, they are pretty easy to get. I have all the Zork
games around here somewhere on one of my backup drives.

Re: [Audyssey] Thoughts and questions about IF gaming: What's your favorite Inform game?

2013-07-08 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Ken,

Well, let's see. I always liked the original Arthur game written by
Infocom because I know for a while I was hooked on that game. I also
played Station Fall quite a lot, and of course all of the Zork games
were pretty good for what they were. In non-Infocom interactive
fiction games Heroine's Mantel was hard but good, and so was Jigsaw. I
also played the Dracula games like Dracula the First Night and Dracula
the Arrival. Generally, I liked all the serious vampire and horror
games I could find as that is sort of my thing.

Besides regular interactive fiction games I have played my share of
adult interactive fiction titles to. However, as Audyssey is intended
to be a family friendly list I won't go into detail of what adult
interactive fiction games I have played here.

Cheers!

Hi James,

Well, in my opinion Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy was OK, but
wasn't great. Then again, I've never cared much for the book or movie
either, and that might have something to do with my not having cared
for the game.

Now, as for Ankerhead I liked that one. Never had any problems playing
it. So it could have been your computer or interpreter giving you
issues there.

Cheers!

Hi Jim,

Don't feel too bad. A lot of interactive fiction is heavily puzzle
oriented and you wouldn't be the first person to get stumped by a
complex puzzle. I've gotten stumped more than my share of times and
had to look up a cheat or find a walkthrough to get passed a certain
puzzle.
