Re: [Audyssey] looking for one foundation help

2013-09-24 Thread Maria and Joe Chapman
Hi

If you have audio boo I did some boos on how to play one foundation. Feel free
to follow me and check them out. my ID is bubbygirl. I will try to explain in
case you don't do boos.
You have the pack of cards which you can draw from, then you have the
foundation card. This is the card you have to place other cars on. the object
of the game is to use all the cards. So, let's say the foundation card is an
8. Look through the cards that say exposed and if you have a 9 or a 7 double
tap and the card will go on top of the 8. The new card is now your foundation
card. So let's say it was a 9. Now you can put a 10 or 8 on the 9. Once you
have made all possible plays draw another card from the pack.

I hope this helps
Cheers

Hi Bogdan,

You should try the USA Games sound pack I created for Lone Wolf. At
the moment I can't remember the exact download link, but it should be
in the list archives. If you can't find it I'll look up the download
link and post it again.

Re: [Audyssey] smugglers 5?

2013-09-24 Thread shaun everiss
my issue with smuglers is that once with my avalanch I attempted to
catch a battleship but was not able to.
In the times I have tried to capture a cruiser I have run out of crew
half way through.
Or if I finally get my avalanch, I get hit by a stonewall and because
of its minigun I die.

In the end I just say f**k it and delete my saves and quit and don't go back.
I do retry again and until I explore most of space again, and such
well when thats done I find I can not progress again.
I have been wanting to win as the federation but never have been
able to handle my way.

and you can't buy a carrior aparently still annoying.
I have thought I want to try another side but the federation reminds
me of startrek and so I want to win that side first.

I have never managed to complete a game though.

Re: [Audyssey] vip mud

2013-09-24 Thread shaun everiss
pluss mush z has some things like the capture mud output by sean
randel which are sadly no longer round at all.

Yeah mush-z is good.
Now if only more muds would be added to the engine maybe extra packs and such.
yes its 400mb probably per mud but heck for a full featured adventure
game scripted to a mud that really does rock.

At 12:43 AM 9/25/2013, you wrote:

Hi.

The mushZ soundpack is not the same as the mushZ program, it's got
it's own download, program shortcuts and will configure itself.

Go to http://www.mush-z.com/ and download the main folder for the
soundpack (it's the one that says (if you don't have mushZ installed go here).

When you've downloaded it, it will install like any other program
and you should be able to run it from the start menue, with the
"play alteraeon" item, (though you probably want to use the check
for updates" option first to make sure you've got all the latest changes.

Most screen readers should auto detect, though sapi requires a
little more tinkering (let me know if you want to run mushZ with sapi).

Incoming text will be automatically spoken, and you can use the
various shortcut keys (see the readme for details), to check stuff
like mana, xp, hitpoints, what spells affect you etc.

Typing "config" lets you change a few options to do with automatic
actions in the game.

As regardinds playing, well there are lots of differences and
convenineces the mushZ pack has, for instance you have sounds in
combat and music to indicate your hp status (though you can also
have this spoken if you like), and keys to perform common actions.
The major display difference I noticed myself and something which
took a little getting used to is not having the separate output
window for reading previous text, though you can hit ctrl alt o
which opens a plane text log of all text sent by the mud to you, so
that can be a reference if you missed something, (though i also just
use supernover's virtual curser as well).

In general as I said, mush as I rate vipmud most of the time, the
mushZ pack is more like a separate game than actually playing a mud,
and in some ways it's better to treat it as such, though the
advantages are so huge it's absolutely worth doing and adds
massively to the experience you'd get just playing alter in conventional text.

Dark.

not sure my issue is that stuff happens so fast that its hard to
track events even when you are with yourself.
Sometimes I bash away at a monster before I know what it is because
by the time the reader gets through the first bit it takes ages to
catch up and then you are half dead.

Re: [Audyssey] vip mud

2013-09-24 Thread shaun everiss

yes its good.
however, you need to go to allinaccess.com and go to their mudding page.
download mushreader, and com audio and mc base.
you then need to coppy the dll files in the zips into the mush-z
install root folder for this to work as it should.
no idea why these were never added and also install com audio, again
no idea why the package has not been updated.
you also don't need the nvda, jaws or win eyes package though the
nvda controler dll needs to be in the mush-z root and for me was the
only issue I had with the client.
hopefully oriol or other of the devs is on here and can update the
pack accordingly.
If you have win7 and up you will need the windows hlp viewer if you
ever need to read the help files fortunately I never needed to.

its on the site.
The only issue I have is that things in the mud move a lot faster
than speech ever does so its sometimes hard especially when grouping.
I also find it hard to find some arieas like the hidden garden in
indera, and also new arieas.
would be nice if there was a page telling where each ariea is
aproximately for refference.
Sometimes I can find say the mole village but its a bet if I will
ever refind that again.
I also was shocked when my waypoints some I had set the beginning one
and another one just went away because I was to high level, I was
never told that they would go though.

2013-09-24 Thread shaun everiss
I have been using mush-z the only thing I did do was update the
mushclient in that package by downloading extracting with 7zip and
coppying the program over as the current version if pulled directly
from the files directory is 4.90.
On that note are there other muds that are good that have sound packs
for mush z that people play?
I really like muds with soundpacks because I get the audio and text
and also my friends play audio adventures and stuff like this but
ofcause mouse controled and with graphics.

Re: [Audyssey] smugglers 5?

2013-09-24 Thread dark
Just bug squashings and rebalancing as I said, nothing new in terms of
gameplay, though here is a copy and paste from the changelog so see for
yourself:

Smugglers 5 V. 1.0.8:
- Major bug fixed (has strong influence on game balance): The EMP action
point rating for enemy ships was wrong (it was set to the AP rating of the
evasion skill).

- Bug fixed: Wrong display of player rank of governor screen
- Bug fixed: When communicating with other ships they addressed you with the
wrong rank
- Change: When you get to the next experience level it now says you are
being rewarded instead of you are being promoted (to avoid confusion,
because only about 1/3 of rewards are real promotions in military rank)
- Bug fixed: Bug since changing the bounty hunter starting skills - In the
tutorial you have to choose the bounty hunter profession and are asked to
activate the taunt ability. There is no taunt ability with the bounty hunter
though.
- Bug fixed: On the profession selection screen for some skills there was a
wrong info pop up.
- Bug fixed: On the planet and star system info popup the description text
font has been switched from bold to standard to allow for more text to be
displayed.
- Bug fixed: Wrong faction displayed on the news report when the player
owning a pirate outpost bribed fellow pirates to suppress enemy forces.
- Bug fixed: On the ship status screen the wrong cannon cm size was
displayed on the info popup when clicking on a weapon
- Bug fixed: Wrong display for cargo space upgrades on the ship status
screen when clicking on the cargo equipment
- Bug fixed: When upgrading ship equipment an empty upgrade could be
selected.
- Bug fixed: When clicking the reinforcement active skill icon on the combat
screen there was an error message

- Bug fixed: Display bug for skill popup in combat screen
- Some grammar fixes

Re: [Audyssey] smugglers 5?

2013-09-24 Thread dark

Hi darren.

Well the current version is 1.8, and there was a bugfix and rebalanced
version in August, so obviously some things are being done with the game.

I do wish though nielsbauer still had their forum rather than the blog which
hasn't recieved an update now for over 18 months, since that was a far
better place to discuss ideas, suggestions and find out what was going on.

I'm hoping though an addon is going to appear. Smugglers 5 in a lot of ways
was an upgrade to smugglers 4 that became so upgraded that it pretty much
became a new game entirely, so we never got to see an s4 addon like the
other smugglers games had, (heck I still hope my exploration idea makes it
into a game addon).

for other games though, I'm still sorry about the Empires and dungeons thing
too though, I wish more members of the comunity could've got behind that
one, since it would've just taken a few pre ordrs.

Still no point crying over spilled milk I suppose.

All the best,

Dark.

What is happening with smugglers 5 these days? is it still being

Much as I do like vipmud for all other muds, I have to say Oriol's MushZ

and virtually turns the game into a full on audio rpg. I'd strongly
recommend giving it a try.

Re: [Audyssey] vip mud

2013-09-24 Thread dark

Hi Sharren.

As I said, you can hit ctrl alt o to open a text file in the background with
the mud's text in. this isn't quite as good as vipmud's output review, since
you have to switch to it with ctrl alt, but it does let you pick up on what
you missed.

I also personally use supernover's virtual curser to review on screen text
and get spellings too while sapi reads incoming text from the mud, though
whether this will work for you will depend on your screen reader.

All the best,

Dark.

I was wondering with mush can you review the screen with your arrows like
you can do with vip? For if you missed something that the game had said
how

would you review the screen or get a spelling for a certain word if you
didn't understand what the voice said? Thanks for any input.

Re: [Audyssey] vip mud

2013-09-24 Thread dark

Hi.

The mushZ soundpack is not the same as the mushZ program, it's got it's own
download, program shortcuts and will configure itself.

Go to http://www.mush-z.com/ and download the main folder for the soundpack
(it's the one that says (if you don't have mushZ installed go here).

When you've downloaded it, it will install like any other program and you
should be able to run it from the start menue, with the "play alteraeon"
item, (though you probably want to use the check for updates" option first
to make sure you've got all the latest changes.

Most screen readers should auto detect, though sapi requires a little more
tinkering (let me know if you want to run mushZ with sapi).

Incoming text will be automatically spoken, and you can use the various
shortcut keys (see the readme for details), to check stuff like mana, xp,
hitpoints, what spells affect you etc.

Typing "config" lets you change a few options to do with automatic actions
in the game.

As regardinds playing, well there are lots of differences and convenineces
the mushZ pack has, for instance you have sounds in combat and music to
indicate your hp status (though you can also have this spoken if you like),
and keys to perform common actions. The major display difference I noticed
myself and something which took a little getting used to is not having the
separate output window for reading previous text, though you can hit ctrl
alt o which opens a plane text log of all text sent by the mud to you, so
that can be a reference if you missed something, (though i also just use
supernover's virtual curser as well).

In general as I said, mush as I rate vipmud most of the time, the mushZ pack
is more like a separate game than actually playing a mud, and in some ways
it's better to treat it as such, though the advantages are so huge it's
absolutely worth doing and adds massively to the experience you'd get just
playing alter in conventional text.

hth.

All the best,

Dark.
