[Audyssey] Star Traders

2014-02-10 Thread Richard Claridge
Hi all.
I just had a couple of questions regarding this game, to see if others had the
same experiences as me.
Firstly are people able to read the notifications that regularly pop up on the
screen, because I cannot. My friend who plays the game on android says that
these are quite important in many situations and I can see that they pop-up
on-screen, but cannot read them either by site or with voice over.
Secondly when a combat situation pops up are people able to see the level of
the opponent, again my friend says that the android version has this, but I
cannot see it on my iPhone version. I would've thought this was quite important
to see the level of enemy you're up against.
Thirdly the log always appears to be empty for me no matter what I do, and my
friend has told that on android this is a very interesting screen which
basically tells you what you doing. I know that this game on the iPhone has
only recently had the accessibility updates, but I was wondering if others were
aware of these and Had made the developer aware, especially as I have Had my
head bitten off for previously asking people to contact the developer.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Richard

Hi there.

The developer is aware of more access ability issues. The pop-up notifications
at present do not work. He has been working on it though.

Re: [Audyssey] Star Traders

2014-02-10 Thread dark
Yep, and the biggy is the war screen and planets on the faction screen, but
star traders is something of a work in process access wise and at least the
developer is continuing to work on the game.

In terms of ships though, well I don't know if there is an over all level,
but I always just look at an enemy's statistics in hull, guns, torps etc,
and that pretty much tells me if they're too big to handle or not.

BEware the grue!

Dark.

[Audyssey] Learning BGT

2014-02-10 Thread Esteban Argel
Dear all,
I am writing to you all regarding the manual for BGT. For some
unknown reason, the manual for the program above cannot be read by my
screen reader, (NVDA.) If any person on this list has any advice
regarding this issue, I would like to know about it.

Thanks,

Steven

Re: [Audyssey] Learning BGT

2014-02-10 Thread Michael Taboada

Hi Steven,
One thing I could recommend to try: Go to the manual in the program
files directory under bgt. Then press applications on it, and go to
properties. Then tab to unblock, and press it. tab to apply, and press
that. then press ok, and it should be readable. Note I'm not talking
about the start menu, you'll have to go to c: then to program files or
program files (x86) then to bgt.

Hth,
-Michael.

Re: [Audyssey] Learning BGT

2014-02-10 Thread Ian Reed

Hi Steven,

I am using NVDA and can read the BGT manual.
I first go to C:\Program Files (x86)\BGT and open BGT.chm.
This drops me in a tree view with headings like:
Introduction, Tutorials, References, Frequently asked questions, and the
appendices at the top level of the tree view.
Note that tutorials and references can both be expanded by pressing
right arrow on them to get to sub items.

To read one of these sections press enter on it, then press F6.
You can get back to the treeview by pressing F6 again.
Visually the tree view is on the left and whenever you press enter on an
item it updates a browser like view on the right.
It is not obvious that you need to press F6 to get to this browser pane
unless you've used the .chm file viewer before.

HTH,
Ian Reed
