[Audyssey] complains
Hi I'm leaving audyssey after sometime because my friends in audyssey are very unresponsive. I posted various time about the road to rage but nothing happen. Hi, I guess you have to remember that people are not paid helpers. Everyone is a gamer here and not everyone plays the seem games People are on this list for fun, not neccessarily to help others. Also, not everyone reads this list on a regular basis and some topics might be skipped if persons themselves dont have experience with it. Still, your choice of course. Hello, Yes, but neither Thomas is paid for doing what he does, indeed I couldn't do such a thing in my free time. Also if he is a moderator it doesn't meen that he plays all games out there. You are relatively new to this list, but I am here for years now, and if you knew how many times it happend that noone replyed to my questions. Recently for example, noone answered to me how exactly to resolve a problem with Choice of games on android that I had and think am still having. I asked on the forum but nothing either. And what should I do? Should I unsubscribe? Of course not, because I don't have much free time like many of the people here, and it happened many times that I knew an answer to a question on this or another list and decided to write the email another time as I was haveng a quick check of my email, then the message gets deleted by chance and I don't respond to the person. It just happens when someone is busy most of the time, and you have to live with it whether you are on this list or not. These lists are for entertainment only, and if your priority in this life is only to have fun, don't expect that everyone thinks the same, as having fun for me and for most other people is only a little pause from the serious activities the life consists in such as work, studies, family etc. Even the game developers here do it mostly as a hobby and have more important things to do, so if even Thomas, Jeremy, Philip, Louis or whoever of them doesn't answer, you shouldn't get mad. And finally, you and I don't make much contributions to the list and to the gaming community. And if you and I leave the community or start complaining like this, what influence will it have on the people out there? So let's thank to the devs for what we currently have, as if we don't, we'll understandably lose it. If I were a dev, I would have probably stopped developing games till now quite because of this, but no, I don't want to discourage anyone. Guys, keep up the good work! And once if I get mad about something, I will probably just vanish... Hi Ishan, I am sorry you feel that way, but you need to realize that if no one responds to a question it is likely because no one knows the answer to your question. For example, I have never played Road to Rage so therefore even if I wanted to I could not answer any of your questions about that game. I have no experience in which to base an answer upon, and I would assume many other listers are in a similar situation. So its probably not a case of people snubbing you or ignoring you, but just they can't answer that particular question. You can leave if you want to, but I think you are taking things a bit too personally. You shouldn't feel demoralized just because people can't answer a question about a certain game. In my opinion you are over reacting and taking it personally when it isn't personal. Cheers! Hi Ishan, While I can see why you think it seems unfair fact of the matter is those games aren't that popular on Audyssey. I can't explain why that is exactly, but I am certain it is not anything personal. It definitely isn't anything to do with you so there isn't any reason to get upset, take it personally, and take it out on the list. If you want help with Road to Rage or Black Square I suggest signing up for the Audiogames.net Forum as I have seen both of those games discussed there. There seems to be more active interest in those particular games. Hi Milos, Thanks for that well written post. I could not have said it better myself. As Milos pointed out I don't get paid for running this list or the website. Fact of the matter is I am paying out of pocket for the website and list, and run it purely for entertainment and informational purposes. I don't have time to work on the website and list full time, nor do I have much time to play every single game that comes out. Some of the games you are asking about such as Road to Rage, Black Square, Descent into Madness, I have never played before in my life. Therefore the only way I could possibly answer your questions would to be either to download and play said games before replying, or just make something up. Since I might not have the time to download and play a new game at that time I'm not going to respond to a question about that game. The alternative of just making something up goes against my principles. Lastly, just e-mailing to say I don't know the answer to said question just clutters the list. I have heard good things about the barri barri baseball game from arri barri games on http://pcyam.com/game/eng/index.htm Their five aside tactical football game is good, although it takes a little understanding sinse though the game is fully translated and self voicing in English the developers are Japanese, though once I got the principle it works. Oh, and you don't need to install anything or wangle with your computer to play it either, just download, install, try the demo and pay for the full game if you wish. Actually dean, as per the recent announcement all the choiceofgames interactive story titles (and the hosted games written by other authors in the same programming language), may now be bought directly from http://www.choiceofgames.com/ and played online in whatever web browser you want. previously you could only buy them from the google chrome storeor Ios Ap store, so without installing chrome there was no way to play them on windows, which was frustrating sinse you could still play many demos of the games directly from the choiceofgames site. That has now changed, so help yourself. Go to where it says play online and for the games that aren't free, there is a buy now button, and you can pay with your creddit card. Unfortunately this won't help Milo's problem sinse that seems specific to display on Android devices as I've not noticed anything similar on Ios or windows, which is quite a shame, however it does give you some good games to try. I suspect the reason why blacksquare and rtr are more talked about on audiogames.net is simply that the developers of Dragonaps who make them made the initial announcements on the forum, were around to answer people's forum questions, and announced further bug fixes and the like. that would likely be a simple explanation as to why, indeed the same is often true with games sinse I've noticed newer devs tend to post to the audiogames.net forum slightly more frequently with experimental projects or works in progress. I'm not sure why, probably just the difference between a forum and a mailing list, but it does seem to be the case, and I can think of many games it's happened that way with. This means nstead of being like swamp where all the players team up together against the zombies, a number of players battle in an arena trying to shoot each other until there is a winner. I believe there are several different arena types and some different types of battles, as well as mouse aiming similar to swamp. it's entirely online and has no single player mode. Well I think its totally unfair to post about something and expect a responce all the time. Firstly with road to rage, its not been worked on for bog ages. And since single player mode has gone I have felt less inclined to really play it and have not touched it for ages. It was good when it was round but was never a main stay of my gaming life by any real means. Nothing has been heard from dragonapps at all for like ages. As far as i know there are no new maps being generated for rtr no patches, nothing. Its basically dead or at least closed to us users unless you play online. Simular to swamp bar those select few that want to pay aprone swamp and any future games aprone produces are closed to online free playing. I never had to much interest on swamp before mostly time related and I hardly care about it now though swamp at least was good. Sometimes you have to wait on a answer or go back to the documentation or web site and find a answer. You know a email to the maker or support for the game can answer your questions too.
