[Audyssey] jim's pizza game
HI jim and all Jim, I like your pizza game a lot. Thus far I played it 3 times. The first time I only got a tip of 2 cents from the customer as I was terribly late with my delivery. The second time I was more than in time so I got a tip of over 5 dolllars. I like it a lot that the pizza toppings are different each time I play. One of the toppings included choc chip. I've never eaten a pizza with choc chip on it. The most popular pizza take away place in south africa, debonairs, does not have a topping containing choc chip. I don't know about other pizza places in south africa. I do experience a serious problem. I played the game 3 times thus far and each time, in the middle of the game, my pc reboots automatically. The first time I played the game, my pc rebooted after I delivered the pizza, on my way back to the kitchen. The second time, my pc rebooted while I was on my way to deliver the pizza. And the third time I played, my pc again rebooted while I was on my way to the pizza kitchen after I delivered the pizza. My pc never rebooted automatically before, only now in the middle of the pizza game. I have xp on my pc. Any idea what might cause this problem? I have a suggestion for you. Currently, after delivering the pizza, pressing f1 only tells me that I have no pizza to deliver. It would be nice if the f1 key can tell me the location of the pizza kitchen. I know I'm told the location of the pizza kitchen at the beginning of the game but I cannot remember the location. Thanks a lot for this nice game. Re: [Audyssey] Throwaway Tech was Previous Topic ofInteractiveFiction
Hello Ishan, There will still be updates for Windows 7 available past January 13 2015. What you are confused about is on January 13 2015 Microsoft will officially end mainstream technical support for Windows 7, but that does not mean there won't be any updates available for the OS. All it really means is that Microsoft will be switching Windows 7 over to an extended support policy which will end in January 2020. As such Microsoft will continue to offer critical updates such as security patches and updated drivers, but will not be offering updated features or applications for the OS. So in short Josh or anyone else who chooses to stay with Windows 7 should be fine until 2020 when Microsoft will pull the plug on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008. As that is five years of extended support that should be plenty of time for people to decide to either upgrade to Windows 8.1 or alternatively to Windows 10. Both of which should have any bugs and support issues worked out by that time. Who knows something better might be available by then and people will want to upgrade to that. In any case there isn't any need to worry or panic about Windows 7 support being dropped in January. Only mainstream general technical support is ending. Security updates, driver updates, and any other critical updates will still be provided until 2020. Cheers! [Audyssey] jim's pizza delivery game
Hi all Just to let you know, I have successfully returned to the pizza kitchen after my delivery. Its actually quite easy to remember: the pizza kitchen is between first avenue and first street at centre. But I continue to have the problem where my pc reboots in the middle of a pizza game. This is strange, I wonder what causes this? I have a question: Does pizzas cost the same amount in the US as in the pizza game? For example, at one time I delivered a pizza costing 26 dollars. Is that what a pizza really costs in the US? Here in south africa most pizza places charges an equivalent of 8 dollars for a pizza. Re: [Audyssey] jim's pizza delivery game
Hi Nicol, The prices in the game are really are over priced. Most of the time a pizza in the US is about $10 to $12. Some pizzas such as those from Domino's are $7.99 Monday through Thursday, and some pizza parlors have pizzas as low as $5.00. So it all depends on where you go, and of course if you pick it up or have it delivered makes a difference in price as well. However, I know of no place where a pizza costs $26. Cheers! Hi John, Something like that. Depends on the brand being used but usually it is no more than $0.10 for an average writable CD to burn the OS on for installation. Of course, that's for a base install. Some Linux distributions have full DVD images that costs more because of the cost of the DVD, but come with a huge selection of software right on the disc image. Cheers! Re: [Audyssey] jim's pizza delivery game
I know of such a place. However, the pizza is 18 inches in diameter, and even if you do not order double toppings or cheese, it costs about $25. They really pile on the topping, though, and nothing is premade. Another place here charges $25 for their largest cheese pizza and each additional topping is $4. Keep in mind, though, that this is a 30 inch pizza that is supposed to be for parties. It is a rectangular shape, 24 inches by 30, cut into squares. --- Be positive! Cheers! Is that what a pizza really costs in the US? Here in south africa most pizza places charges an equivalent of 8 dollars for a pizza. Hi Nicol, Thank you very much for saying that you like my new game. That is disturbing though that your computer keeps rebooting. I really don't know, I mean I didn't use any different utilities or really different code than any of my other games. I myself have never had chocolate chips on a pizza, but have heard of others doing so. I have not had many of the toppings in the game. Just used ones that I have heard of. I kind of like a traditional pizza with sausage, mushrooms and maybe extra cheese. A pepperoni pizza is good as well. Chardon has lots of pizza places. Almost as many as banks. I think that Pizza Hut is the only national chain one though. We have had Dominos a couple of times, but think that it is gone now. My favorite is Zeppies Pizza. I don't think that it is a national chain, maybe an Ohio or northeast Ohio chain. Re: [Audyssey] jim's pizza delivery game
Hi Dark, Yeah, it sounds like pizza is high in the UK. While price varies from place to place here in the US if you know where to find a good deal or happen to have a coupon a person can generally get pizza pretty cheap. Last Saturday my family and I decided to eat at Pizza Hut for lunch. I ended up buying two large pizzas with an order of breadsticks for $20. It so happened to be the daily special which is why the meal was so cheap, but its not just Pizza Hut which has daily specials like that. Right now all the major national chains are running specials, are competing with each other, so its a pretty fair bet if someone wants pizza in the US they can get a pretty good deal at most pizza places. As I mentioned before Domino's right now is running a sale where a customer can get one large pizza with two toppings for $7.99. Little Caesar's has their daily special of a medium pizza for $5.00 and they now have their new pretzel crust pizzas for $6.00. Point being pizza is and can be quite cheap here in the USA. The only exception to that rule is if you buy pizza from a privately owned pizza shop. That is where the pizzas are made fresh, are family owned, and they don't use any pre-made crusts and things like that. Those will run a customer probably $15 to $20, but taste better than any of the national chains simply because they are often made from scratch. If someone wants custom sauces, custom crusts, and fresh ingredients they will pay a little more for it. Say $15 to $20. However, in the main if a person in the US gets hungry for a pizza and wants to order one they can get a large for $10or less. Of course, the price goes up depending on the number of toppings, the type of crust, and if they will have it delivered or will pick it up themselves. Cheers! Hi Charles, Good grief! Those are some massive pizzas. Sounds practically big enough to feed a dinosaur. LOL. Actually I have seen them that big but have never ordered one myself. A local restaurant called Fox's Pizza here has there deluxe party pizza which I believe is about 30 inches in diameter. It is generally available for birthday parties and things like that. I have no idea how much it costs since I have never had any reason to buy one that big, but I do imagine it costs quite a bit more than their standard large pizzas. I'd be surprised if it was anything less than $25. Cheers! On 10/24/14, Charles Rivard wee1s...@fidnet.com wrote: I know of such a place. I always thought there was a v instead of a w in the name because it is German. Volkswagen or something like that. I'll be curious to see what the spell checker comes up with. Re: [Audyssey] jim's pizza delivery game
LOL that's actually the special I got when I ordered yesterday. Fitting that I have pizza for dinner and then immediately try Jim's pizza game. Very enjoyable. Cheers! [Audyssey] Crashing jim's pizza delivery game
Hi Nicol, I think the older version of Shades of Doom used to crash computers that used non US keyboards and non-standard ASCII characters for math functions. David Greenwood was able to fix that bug but I don't know how he did it. It is generally available for birthday parties and things like that. I have no idea how much it costs since I have never had any reason to buy one that big, but I do imagine it costs quite a bit more than their standard large pizzas.
