Re: [Audyssey] games playable on consoles [was]Re: what willit take for this community to learn?

2013-06-25 Thread Tony James
Hi, I can play Mortal Kombat 9/2011 just fine on my PS3. The
menus are a bit tough but once you get used to them, you can play
it just fine. It helps that I have knowledge of two previous
incarnations of the game for the Sega Genesis though of course,
much has changed. I enjoy it although a couple characters that
were my most faithful fighters have dropped in this incarnation,
but that may change with time..

If you learn the menus you can do the battles I guess. However
moving around and using the sphere grid would be pretty much
impossible.

Yes sports games are possible. But answer me this: How do you
play racing
games? How do you know where to turn or if you're going the
wrong way?
Rockband I understand, it's a great game and I like playing it.
I guess my
point is that we can't play more of the current things if that
makes sense.
Like COD or Resident Evil. That's why I like playing games like
Final
Fantasy X, Kingdom Hearts and Mass Effect (to a degree). I
guess you could
play third person shooters if you do what I do and use a lock-on
system or
use sound cues which is how I play them, ut FPS's are, I think,
out
completely. I'm not trying to make it sound like totals can't,
I'm really

just curious.

I am not about to read 40 messages, so I will just comment on
this

get rid

of them. I'm glad Jeremy has not quit his work because right
now,
he's the only one that is making modern games for us. If he

Yes. Do a search for Shredder Chess without the quotes. Look
at the

descriptions to find the program you desire.

Also, for those interested, after playing a few games against it,
my rating
is 1,203, which is, according to the app, a casual player. There
is a
setting that will adjust the computer's strength to yours. If
you beat it
on the lowest rating of 850, it will increase the difficulty. If
it beats
you, it will lower the difficulty accordingly. I really like

Subject: [Audyssey] Sarah beta from 2005

Hi Folks
Shalva put a link to my 2005 beta of Sarah in the Audio Games
forum.

So I am also including it here:
It is on my web site at,
http://www.pcsgames.net/Sarah10Beta.exe

Sarah10Beta.exe 81,393 MB

Be aware that it installs in the same folder as the current Sarah
game so

during installation, you must change the game location.
It uses the same desktop quick link so you need to change that
also.
I would suggest going to your desktop and re-naming the current
desktop

quick link to something else, such as just Sarah or Sarah11.
This was dated 2005 and uses the Crystal voice from A T and T
which was
replaced with Sarah Alawami's voice in the current version. I
tried it
yesterday to make sure it still workes, but didn't explore it too
much, so

I'm not sure what bugs are in it.
I am still working on the update Sarah 1.2, and just got a new
recording
from Sarah Alawami that I am adding to the game that will make
the Hogwarts

grounds level sound like the rest of the game.
In developing the new level, I used the crystal voice to say all
the new

objects and locations, but wanted Sarah to record them.
I am adding a wand shop and the three broomsticks pub to the
Hogsmeade town
next to the sweet shop, which now has a door so you can exit to
the rest of
the town. Of course down the road is a haunted shack and the
gate to the

castle.

This beta uses the GMA engine and was written in VB6 so needs the
same

libraries as the other PCS and GMA games on new computers.

Hi,

Well, in this particular game, you had to go through 5 stages of
fighting off Shredir's henchmen and if you defeated them all, a
timed bomb would then appear and you had to strike it multiple
times to deactivate it. The last stage was the most interesting
because at the end of it, you would face none other then Shredir
himself and he wasn't easy. Please note that Shredir may or mkay
not have been the boss I can't really
remember, but the game itself was rather large, yellow and
squareish. The game actually talked during gameplay. Your
turtle would say one of two phrases when attacking and pizza

handheld on Amazon called Shredir's Revenge, but not sure if
that's the one.

Hello, All I can say, is that you must be one hell of a genius!!!
Thank you so very much. I found the TMNT game I was looking for
on Youtube and I'm so excited. I had forgotten a few minor
details, but anyway here's the proper name. TMNT Dimension X
Assult Talking Electronic LCD game. It was a piggish creature
that was the main enemy, but I don't know enough about the
Turtles to know who that is.

I'm trying to come up with the name of this handheld game: There
is what
looks like a flight of stairs, each step a different color.
Pattern Puzzles
are in the game's memory, and you have to figure them out by the
color, each

of which has a different sound. There are 100 patterns to solve.

Cool. Spiderman wasn't really my thing, but I hope you and

please do
let me know if you figure out the name of the turtle game. I
would

even if they're sold on Ebay, can be pretty up there in price.

HmmmMaybe you could type in the name of that game on youtube
and
see if there's any videos of someone playing it. It's worth a

had.

 Hi,

Well, in this particular game, you had to go through 5 stages
of

fighting off Shredir's henchmen and if you defeated them all, a
timed bomb would then appear and you had to strike it multiple
times to deactivate it. The last stage was the most
interesting
because at the end of it, you would face none other then
Shredir

himself and he wasn't easy. Please note that Shredir may or
mkay
not have been the boss I can't really
remember, but the game itself was rather large, yellow and
squareish. The game actually talked during gameplay. Your
turtle would say one of two phrases when attacking and pizza
whenever they managed to get a slice. I did manage to find a
handheld on Amazon called Shredir's Revenge, but not sure if
 that's the one.

Hi Charles,

It was my understanding that the podcast, assuming we did one,
would
be in addition to and not a replacement for the Audyssey
Magazine.
Like you I feel a magazine should be read and not listened to.
Besides
that it would get pretty darn expensive paying for extra hard
drive
space and bandwidth for a podcast compared to the price of a few
MB to
store the magazine. Big difference in cost there, and one I
don't
think certain members of our community fully appreciates. In any
case
I don't expect the magazine will be switching to a podcast for
those

and other practical reasons.

Cheers!

put into an

audio presentation. Also, submissions from readers might be
more difficult

to insert and edit. While podcasts are cool, I don't think it
would be a

good format for Audyssey. Again, this is just my opinion.

Hi,
Another post is up on my Aurora blog. This marks a slight shift away from
tutorial stuff except where necesary towards a more conventional
after-action report. I hope you enjoy and are motivated to give this
tough but unique game a try.

Best,
Zack.

Subject: [Audyssey] Trucker Questions

Hi all.

I have a couple of questions about Jim Kitchen's trucking game, aptly
named Trucker.

First, is it actually possible to turn a profit by following all road rules?

Second, do the different truck models actually effect gameplay I.E.
fuel consumption, truck wewight, etc.

Finally, when is the game actually set? $.80 for diesel fuel?

Love it.

Now I solved the problems and I played a lot!
It's really a fantastic game!
I will definitely purchase it!
Yesterday I spent several hours playing in a campaign in the sea! It was a
great moment!
Cheers,

I would have to say that TOC is not similar to SoundRTS, unless Axis and
Allies is similar to Risk. There is no comparison in the delicious
 complexity of TOC.
