Re: [Audyssey] games playable on consoles [was]Re: what willit take for this community to learn?
Hi, I can play Mortal Kombat 9/2011 just fine on my PS3. The menus are a bit tough but once you get used to them, you can play it just fine. It helps that I have knowledge of two previous incarnations of the game for the Sega Genesis though of course, much has changed. I enjoy it although a couple characters that were my most faithful fighters have dropped in this incarnation, but that may change with time.. - Original Message - From: Mike Wassel blindndanger...@aim.com To: Gamers Discussion list gamers@audyssey.org Date sent: Tue, 25 Jun 2013 18:12:38 -0400 Subject: Re: [Audyssey] games playable on consoles [was]Re: what willit take for this community to learn? Yes sports games are possible. But answer me this: How do you play racing games? How do you know where to turn or if you're going the wrong way? Rockband I understand, it's a great game and I like playing it. I guess my point is that we can't play more of the current things if that makes sense. Like COD or Resident Evil. That's why I like playing games like Final Fantasy X, Kingdom Hearts and Mass Effect (to a degree). I guess you could play third person shooters if you do what I do and use a lock-on system or use sound cues which is how I play them, ut FPS's are, I think, out completely. I'm not trying to make it sound like totals can't, I'm really just curious. Mike. Street Fighter IV, for example, has pretty simple mechanics. But those mechanics build into longer combos and strategy that can't be found in any other genre. But totals can play the majority of hack n slashes to at least a certain degree. Many people are able to play Ninja gaiden 3 without issue and are already close to beating the game, and games such as Rock Band and some sports games are also playable. While I don't play many audio games mainly because I don't care for the content when I have other games on my ps2/ps3 that I play more, I see it all the time with this community that people aren't happy, that they bitch and moan about keys/cracks of games all the time after a game is released, and even after it's been released. However, you can't put the blind community at 100% fault. The same thing goes on with sighted gamers. But since we are a relatively smaller community it hits a lot harder. If you don't have a thick skin and can just let comments roll off, you're going to quit. This is why I don't develop. One reason is because I don't have the time to do it, the other reason is if I did and started to get a whole lot of complaints, I know I'd explode on somebody. I've said it before. These debs go through a lot of work to create a game for everyone to enjoy. It takes a while to code and find bugs and get rid of them. I'm glad Jeremy has not quit his work because right now, he's the only one that is making modern games for us. If he wasn't here, I doubt that TRTR would've been made or any of the other games that are starting to come out. The same thing happened with Entombed. So I am also including it here: It is on my web site at, http://www.pcsgames.net/Sarah10Beta.exe Sarah10Beta.exe 81,393 MB Be aware that it installs in the same folder as the current Sarah game so during installation, you must change the game location. It uses the same desktop quick link so you need to change that also. I would suggest going to your desktop and re-naming the current desktop quick link to something else, such as just Sarah or Sarah11. This was dated 2005 and uses the Crystal voice from A T and T which was replaced with Sarah Alawami's voice in the current version. I tried it yesterday to make sure it still workes, but didn't explore it too much, so I'm not sure what bugs are in it. I am still working on the update Sarah 1.2, and just got a new recording from Sarah Alawami that I am adding to the game that will make the Hogwarts grounds level sound like the rest of the game. In developing the new level, I used the crystal voice to say all the new objects and locations, but wanted Sarah to record them. I am adding a wand shop and the three broomsticks pub to the Hogsmeade town next to the sweet shop, which now has a door so you can exit to the rest of the town. Of course down the road is a haunted shack and the gate to the castle. This beta uses the GMA engine and was written in VB6 so needs the same libraries as the other PCS and GMA games on new computers. Re: [Audyssey] old handheld games
Hi, Well, in this particular game, you had to go through 5 stages of fighting off Shredir's henchmen and if you defeated them all, a timed bomb would then appear and you had to strike it multiple times to deactivate it. The last stage was the most interesting because at the end of it, you would face none other then Shredir himself and he wasn't easy. Please note that Shredir may or mkay not have been the boss I can't really remember, but the game itself was rather large, yellow and squareish. The game actually talked during gameplay. The last stage was the most interesting because at the end of it, you would face none other then Shredir himself and he wasn't easy. Please note that Shredir may or mkay not have been the boss I can't really remember, but the game itself was rather large, yellow and squareish. The game actually talked during gameplay. Your turtle would say one of two phrases when attacking and pizza whenever they managed to get a slice. I did manage to find a handheld on Amazon called Shredir's Revenge, but not sure if that's the one. Hi, Maybe you could switch to HTML as opposed to plain text and that way you could insert heading tags to allow the reader to jump from article to article. Like you I feel a magazine should be read and not listened to. Besides that it would get pretty darn expensive paying for extra hard drive space and bandwidth for a podcast compared to the price of a few MB to store the magazine. Big difference in cost there, and one I don't think certain members of our community fully appreciates. In any case I don't expect the magazine will be switching to a podcast for those and other practical reasons. Cheers!
