Re: [Audyssey] Dan Zingaro
Hi Shaun. Indeed, I am well aware of the closing of his site and the open release of his games. That is precisely why I wanted to contact him about continuing development on his games. He never did, and now he doesn't respond to his personal email address, and the danzgames.com email addresses bounce back undelivered. Thanks. Re: [Audyssey] Dan Zingaro
Hi Damien, I've had very much the same problems you have. Since hosting all of Dan's games I've also been trying to get the rights to the games so I can port them to C++ and produce Mac OS and Linux versions. So far no luck. Regarding obtaining the rights to produce versions of various abandoned games it sounds like you and I basically have the same idea, but for completely different reasons. For myself I had hoped to get the rights for Super Deecout, Chainlink, Search Party, etc to begin my Mac/Linux collection. There are a number of abandoned games such as Giftenum that could easily be converted to C++, and then ported to Mac OS and Linux fairly easily. This is pretty much what I've planned to do for a while, and it seams you now hold the copyrights for most of the abandonware out there. Perhaps we could figure out some limited partnership to help each other convert these games to C++ and produce cross-platform versions. We might even decide to open them up as open source projects since I don't believe you or I were planning on producing commercial versions of these games anyway. Cheers! [Audyssey] Dan Zingaro
Hi, Speaking of Dan Zingaro, anybody heard from him recently? I am trying to contact him regarding the rights to his games which he was willing to sell to me, and whether he was still willing to do so. The last I heard he was resolving a copyright issue with part of it and he was going to get back to me. He never did, and now he doesn't respond to his personal email address, and the danzgames.com email addresses bounce back undelivered. Thanks.
