Hello Thomas, Philip and Kelly, this is very upsetting to see that a beta
tester would leak an unfinished product on the internet. Nourmally if you
do
something like that you get kicked off of the team, I believe? Personally
if
I were a game developer and a beta tester leaked a game that I was
developing on the internet, I would kick the person off the team and
continue developing as I usually would.

great about it that people still want the game knowing that it isn't

I agree. We have someone on the audiogames forum who has been writing a game

too bad since it sounds like a good game.

Hi,

Well, I know Javascript, as I took it in college as part of my web
scripting courses, but the language was never ever designed to write
games in. I'll be frank with you, and even Philip agrees, it isn't
really the ideal programming language for games. You'd be much much
better off by rewriting it from scratch using BGT or something like
that. My feeling is let's stop playing around with the kiddy languages
and use some serious programming languages and tools for a change. I'm
just a bit sick and tired of programmer wannabes using substandard
junk like AutoIt, Javascript, whatever when there are better languages
and tools available.

Cheers!

Hi,

Yeah, I'd probably do the same. However, this happened years ago.
Sience Invasion has been floating around the internet for five or six
years. I am not sure why Philip abandoned the game exactly, but it
probably had to do with his decision to stop using Javascript and
switch to C++. I know it was around 2005 or so when he closed PB Games
and started Blastbay Studios with Streemway etc.

Re: [Audyssey] Regarding Science Invasion

2011-04-10 Thread Philip Bennefall

Hi all,

I could not agree more with Kelly's statement. I have also commented on this
many times in the past, basically saying that I do not give any support for
the game or maintain it in any way but since the beta leaked out from the
team at the time, there isn't much that either I or Kelly can do about it.
Personally I don't care if people pass it around, but I don't want it to be
hosted officially anywhere. Any thoughts, Kelly?

Kind regards,

Philip Bennefall

Subject: [Audyssey] Regarding Science Invasion

Hi,

I was one of the people behind Science Invasion. Just so you know,
development on the game ceased a few years ago, so it is incomplete. A
couple years ago, I wrote to audiogames.net asking that it be removed from
their database, but obviously that hasn't happened. Personally, I don't see
any point in distributing it.

Thanks.

Yours Sincerely,
