[Audyssey] Spirited Voice Recordings needed.
Hi Folks, i sent this message a few weeks ago and got no response so here we go again. Some people have complained about the flat and dead voices of the ghosts in my Sarah game. I thought it was appropriate to use synthesized voices but who am I to argue with the public? I've added a bunch of real humans talking in the game but I have a need for voices for, The goblin, Peeves, Nearless Headless Nick, the Fat Friar, Moaning Myrtle, the fat lady, and Dobby. You need to record each phrase 2 times. This is for randomize sakes. Upon playing a voice in my game, it will randomize all the phrases to make it feel a bit more natural. For example: Very important! Please make sure you get the best out of your microphone, and environment. Be in a quiet as possible room, and remove anything that might make your microphone sound bad. This is serious! Otherwise, your voice might need to be rejected. Rejection is no problem, you can always try again. Just understand that I want to have the best possible quality in the game, and this includes voices! Please be as lively as possible while recording. And if it may involve screaming, so be it. Don't feel bad, the result will make it worthwhile! Try to emote everything as good as you can. For example, when you say I'm hit!, make it sound serious. Accents are absolutely no problem. Talk in your normal accent, just like you normally would. Results can be sent via attached Mail to p...@pcsgames.net and I'll get back to you. Please send me the whole recording session in one mp3 file. This being you start recording, begin acting, then stop. Try not to stop after each recording. Don't worry, no one will ever hear your outtakes, and I won't judge you either. This just makes it much easier for me. Remember your microphone position, the room you were in, and the recording settings in case I need more recordings from you. Since the ghosts and creatures are all from the UK, To make sure you have a good enough accent, I'll need you to say a few test phrases. Moaning Myrtle: A high pitched teenage female voice interrupted by sobs and cries. My name is Myrtle. I do have feelings, you know. Even if I'm dead. Stop it. You're making fun of me. I've never come out to speak to anyone before. Well never for a girl. Dobby the house elf: His voice was high, a teeny, quivering squeak. I'm Dobby, Miss. Just Dobby. Dobby the house-elf, bound to serve one house and one family forever. Begging your pardon, miss, Dobby has a helpful mirror, for you, Anytime, Miss, just say Dobby help, and Dobby will try. But Dobby is wanting paying for his work, miss. Dobby heard tell of it from the other house-elves when he came to Hogwarts, Miss if you want hiding, The ghosts can't find you in the broom cupboard. Binns: drones like an old vacuum cleaner voice dry, reedy, and wheezy; tends to drone on and on often cleared his throat with a small noise like chalk snapping I am Professor Binns. My subject is History. I deal with facts, not myths and legends It is such a very sensational, even ludicrous tale. it was an age when we were feared by common people. and suffered much persecution. It is believed to be some sort of monster, but I tell you, the thing does not exist. Peeves: often makes A loud, rude sound, like the air being let out of a balloon, or a pop sound. makes rude noises, an evil cackle and sometimes screeches, I'm Peeves, run for your lives! GOT YOUR CONK! Who's there? I Know you're there, even if I can't see you. Wandering around at midnight, Tut, tut, tut. Ah ha! Naughty, naughty, you'll get caughty. Nearless Headless Nick: In a friendly helpful tone. I would prefer you to call me Sir Nick. Anything I can do? Hello, hello, Enjoying yourself? You'd better get out of here. Fat Lady: She is not happy about being woken up an is a bit tipsy. Password? Who's there? Are you going to give me the password, or will I have to stay awake all night? goblin: In a low pitched Bulgarian accent. My name, Griphook You have some gold, Miss? Eye vill take, your gold. You can pick one voice or do several. Thanks, Phil --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. I know a few of those... :d Seriously, I know a few people that are of bulgarian origin and talk serbian with the bulgarian accent, but a creature like that would never acurre to me that way, so tell me how did the asociation come into mind?
