Re: [Audyssey] jim's pizza game
I remember watching it and the second film several times back in the day and I even had an audio tape with the description, however I've not seen it for absolutely years. Then again, after the first two seasons Ninja turtles seemed to go way off the rails, lot of random characters especially weerd aliens, less concentration on the turtles living in the sewers as a public menace and more of them going elsewhere and far sillier plots generally, and though i absolutely loved the cartoon up to that point, i found that I lost interest later. It's ironic, I usually keep an interest in most things I saw as a child, heck the dungeons and dragons cartoon has pretty awsome writing quality (I have it on dvd), and it still surprises me now watching he man and the masters of the universe just how much plot vs action there is (not always astoundingly good plot, but a surprising amount). I don't know what happened to turtles whether they just had a writers strike or ran out of ideas. Beware the Grue! Re: [Audyssey] jim's pizza game
Hi Dark, Thanks for the explanation. It was very interesting. I wasn't aware things were generally that expensive in the UK. Although, since you explained about the different formula for Coke and Pepsi it does make sense that you'd have a separate bottling plant just for UK customers. As for getting a desert as a side order I'd imagine all that sand and gravel would get a little dry. After all there is a big difference in getting a desert with sand and gravel for dinner instead of a dessert like cake, cookies, pies, etc. Lol. Sorry, I couldn't resist teasing you over your spelling. A lot of people don't know or realize the difference between desert and dessert so it becomes humorous reading their posts when they are talking about buying and eating a desert when they meant dessert. Wow. I'm not sure if things are cheaper here or more unreasonably expensive over there. I suppose that the shipping costs have a lot to do with the higher prices over there. --- Be positive! Over here, if you went to a supermarkit a two leater bottle of pepsy, Doctor Pepper or or some other named brand would likely cost you between £1.50 and £2, while the cheaper brands such as the Supermarkit's own version of coke would be about a pound for two leaters, perhaps a little less, or roughly 1.5 usd. Dominoes two leter bottles would be bout £3, (that is about 5 usd), so when I was ordering from dominoes I didn't bother. however, a Pappa Jons has just opened where I live who not only do much nicer (and far less processed), pizza than dominoes but also sell their two leter bottles of drink for about £2, which is okay with me, particularly sinse as I don't have a car, hauling large bottles of soft drinks around isn't fun, I do do postal orders every few weeks but there is a limit to how many bottles of diet coke I can store in my kitchin. Re: [Audyssey] jim's pizza game
Hi tom This is very interesting. This is what soda roughly cost in south africa as well. 1 dollar equals to 10 south african rand. So then it means that 89 cents must be 8 rand 90 cents in south africa. So a 2 litre bottle of soda in south africa costs more or less what it costs in the US. What is the difference between name brand and off brand soda? I never heard of the term off brand soda before. -Original Message- From: Gamers [mailto:gamers-boun...@audyssey.org] On Behalf Of Thomas Ward Sent: 27 November 2014 07:37 AM To: Gamers Discussion list Subject: Re: [Audyssey] jim's pizza game Hi Charles, Yeah, it would stand to reason more people would buy soda from pizza parlors if they charged a better price for it. As I said before I can usually buy a 2-liter of soda for as low as $0.89 for an off brand soda and about a $1.25 for a name brand soda from a supermarket so I'm not about to pay $2.50 or so for a 2-liter from a pizza place. Now, if they were more reasonable, say $1.50, I might be willing to pay an extra $0.25 or so for a 2-liter but not a full $1.25. At those kinds of prices I can have two bottles for the price of one, and if I am pretty regular about ordering pizza on a certain night like Friday or Saturday all I need to do is plan ahead and buy the soda from the store when I know I'm having pizza with family or friends that coming weekend. Re: [Audyssey] jim's pizza game
Hi Dark, Yikes! The cost of soda does seem extremely high over in the UK. I can't even begin to think of a place where anyone would have to pay those sorts of prices for a 2-liter. Even if I could name a few I know nobody in the US would pay those kinds of prices unless the price of soda went up everywhere. With that in mind its not hard to figure out why there is a price difference. The main one being is the two major soda companies, Coca Cola and Pepsi, are both American owned and operated companies. They are produced and bottled here in the US. Therefore the UK would be a foreign market and there are doubtless extra costs in involved in exporting it to the UK that wouldn't be involved in shipping it to American supermarkets and other distributors. Re: [Audyssey] jim's pizza game
Hi Charles, Agreed. I rarely if ever order a drink along with my pizza order because the soda is over priced. Not when I can pick up an off brand soda at Save Alot for like $0.89 for a 2-liter. As far as I'm concerned Dr Pop, Bubba Cola, and Tub's Root Beer, etc are just as good as their name brand counterparts for much less. Cheers! Re: [Audyssey] jim's pizza game
Hi Jim. I have a suggestion. Can you add more cars and much more stuff? For example refueling and stuff like that. Also on the same concept as pizza delivery game, you can create a taxi and buss game. THe idea will be nice to start from a small car and try to make investitions for buying a new car and take licences for mini buss and for big busses. -Original Message- From: Bryan Peterson Sent: Monday, November 24, 2014 5:24 PM To: Gamers Discussion list Subject: Re: [Audyssey] jim's pizza game I didn't know pizza places would deliver people to lead you around. Re: [Audyssey] jim's pizza game
I didn't know pizza places would deliver people to lead you around. LOL. Sure would be nice. Unless the word you were looking for was Liter, L I T E R. But I have occasionally known pizza places to also deliver six-packs of cans. That's pretty rare though and come to think of it it's been years since I've actually had one do that. It's usually the two-liter bottles wich in any case are better since you can close them up again. I find it particularly interesting that the fix solved the issue (I thought that checkbox just made it so when your machine crashed it'd just sit there and do nothing). I could be wrong though. -- From: "Thomas Ward" Sent: Monday, November 24, 2014 10:03 To: "Gamers Discussion list" Subject: Re: [Audyssey] jim's pizza game Hi Nicol, I'm glad you managed to temporarily alleviate the situation with your system restarting. Re: [Audyssey] jim's pizza game
Hi Nicol, Thank you very much for saying that you like my new game. That is disturbing though that your computer keeps rebooting. I really don't know, I mean I didn't use any different utilities or really different code than any of my other games. I myself have never had chocolate chips on a pizza, but have heard of others doing so. I have not had many of the toppings in the game. Just used ones that I have heard of. I kind of like a traditional pizza with sausage, mushrooms and maybe extra cheese. A pepperoni pizza is good as well. Chardon has lots of pizza places. Almost as many as banks. I think that Pizza Hut is the only national chain one though. We have had Dominos a couple of times, but think that it is gone now. My favorite is Zeppies Pizza. I don't think that it is a national chain, maybe an Ohio or northeast Ohio chain. [Audyssey] jim's pizza game
HI jim and all Jim, I like your pizza game a lot. Thus far I played it 3 times. The first time I only got a tip of 2 cents from the customer as I was terribly late with my delivery. The second time I was more than in time so I got a tip of over 5 dolllars. I like it a lot that the pizza toppings are different each time I play. One of the toppings included choc chip. I've never eaten a pizza with choc chip on it. The most popular pizza take away place in south africa, debonairs, does not have a topping containing choc chip. I don't know about other pizza places in south africa. I do experience a serious problem. I played the game 3 times thus far and each time, in the middle of the game, my pc reboots automatically. The first time I played the game, my pc rebooted after I delivered the pizza, on my way back to the kitchen. The second time, my pc rebooted while I was on my way to deliver the pizza. And the third time I played, my pc again rebooted while I was on my way to the pizza kitchen after I delivered the pizza. My pc never rebooted automatically before, only now in the middle of the pizza game. I have xp on my pc. Any idea what might cause this problem? I have a suggestion for you. Currently, after delivering the pizza, pressing f1 only tells me that I have no pizza to deliver. It would be nice if the f1 key can tell me the location of the pizza kitchen. I know I'm told the location of the pizza kitchen at the beginning of the game but I cannot remember the location. Thanks a lot for this nice game.
