Re: [Audyssey] Something I've Learned

2011-03-23 Thread Jim Kitchen

Hi Ken,

ATT Crystal reads my Email to me in a continuous manner without me even
touching my keyboard. That is one Email after another until it reads them all. So
I read every Email in my Email box. Like while I'm eating breakfast, drinking
coffee or whatever. I can skip a message if I wish too, but normally do not. So I
read every single Audyssey message. I just do not respond to every single one.

BFN

Jim

I said no to drugs, but they just wouldn't listen.

Re: [Audyssey] Something I've Learned

2011-03-22 Thread dark

Actually Ken, i myself tend to follow a much different rule.

I read the first post of any given topic, ie, when it's subject is not re
something, and judge whether or not I will participate in that discussion.

If I decide I have nothing to add, or if it is a topic which isn't related
to me, then! is when I start deleting posts in that topic unread.

That's also why imho it's so important for subject lines to make sense.

Beware the Grue!

I have heard people complaining about not getting much feedback on list. I
myself have griped and moaned about it a time or two--but now I understand
what's going on.
What it is is that people get so much mail through the list that they only
read posts by big companies and games designers. What made me realize
this is that nobody commented on psycho smash until you did, Tom, and they
all replied to your message, which means that they did not read mine. I
think that's why if minor game devs like me talk about a game, we can go
on talking about it for post after post. Then, Tom mentions it and you
get twenty posts asking what the game is. It makes a whole lot of sense
now.

Re: [Audyssey] Something I've Learned

2011-03-22 Thread Dean Masters
I check out the subject line and if it sounds like I would be interested I
would get involved in the discussion. But that kind of game didnt sound like
something I would like. most of the time I don't read all the chit chat
about games that might be. I might read some messages about a game that is
out to figure if I might want to try it or not. I don't have that much time
for games so most of the time it might be months before I actually get
around to trying a new game out then all the discussion is over.

2011-03-22 Thread Charles Rivard
I get so many Emails, I do the exact same thing. Read Emails based on their
subject line, because that's what it's there for. If I'm not interested in
the subject shown by the subject line, it gets deleted. There are also
Emails from certain people that I automatically delete for various personal
reasons, which is another matter that I won't go into.
