Hi Cait,

You can get the latest version of Swamp from
http://www.kaldobsky.com/audiogames
and you might want to check out some of his other games as well.
Castaways remains one of my favorites and Towers of War is also a pretty
interesting game too.

Cheers!

Hi Cait and Nickels, and all
www.audiogames.net
and
www.pcsgames.net
have tonnes of information on all the different kinds of games, the latter
having more information about the sites and their newest game releases, and
the former having more information on the games themselves.

Also, Just thought I'd Correct you on a couple of things, tom:
1. its not aliens in the outback - its just alien outback.
And
2. In Shades, (the affectionate abbreviation/nickname we give shades of doom
for those who don't know), you're going through 9 levels of a research base
where an experiment has gone horribly wrong.
Just thought I'd flag those up so everyone is clear... lol.
Don't take it as a pedantic insult from me, just take it as a helping hand
from a fellow gamer!

Re: [Audyssey] new and wanting game suggestions, please!

Well, hello and welcome to the gamers list!
First the games you are talking about is Monkey business and shades of doom.
If you go to www.audiogames.net you will find a download link for those games.
If you remember destination mars and run for president, well Richard De
Steno has updated his dos games to windows and he added great sounds to
the games.

There is also Jim Kitchen website with some great audio games.
His site is www.kitchensinc.net
I hope I was helpful.

Hi Caitlyn,

Well, in terms of recommending games what exactly are you interested in.
These days there are several kinds of accessible games from your Space
Invader style arcade games like Aliens in the Outback, Troopenum, and
Judgment Day to highly complex first-person games like Shades of Doom
and Sarah and the Castle of Witchcraft and Wizardry. There are hundreds
of accessible text adventures, several online muds, and even browser
based games like Sryth. The best thing I can suggest is that you swing by

http://www.audiogames.net
and look at the database of accessible games known to exist for blind
and low vision gamers.

As for the games you are asking about they are Monkey Business and
Shades of Doom. Monkey Business is about a number of laboratory monkey's
that escape taking various parts of a teleporter with them, and you have
to recover them and defeat the evil doctor behind the plot. The other
game is called Shades of Doom and more or less follows a storyline
similar to Doom where you go through a laboratory slaying monsters.

Cheers!

Hi,
For me and any other newbies to this list, what are some good games to get
started with? I have a mac primarily, but I do run a virtual machine with xp
and win eyes on it. I also do the i phone and i pad thing.

Oh, and I seem to remember a game from a long time ago called something like
escaped monkeys or something like that, is that still available and playable?
I also remember the doom like one..

Thanks again,
Caitlyn
