Not great, no. But, really bad? No.

The offense is bad. The offensive line is decimated by Muschampism and
injuries.

If Treon had time to look down the field, he would probably see a lot more open
receivers.

He is no Johnny Unitas, but he isn’t bad.

I predict a win over Alabama Saturday.

“You know, Treon, he really don't talk about anything. He comes to practice
with a smile on his face every day and we like him,” sophomore wide receiver
Brandon Powell said. “In practice, he'll make a good throw and we all
celebrate. That's the way it's supposed to be. People judge him off of one
game, but I mean that's what people want to do. But as a team, we still love
Treon and he's going to be our quarterback Saturday. And we're going to go out
and try to get that W.”

Uhm, no. He is being judged off of every game and he Is being judged off of
every game and just isn't that good. I am happy the team is at least publicly
standing behind him, but he is really bad.

What happened to that giant JUCO OL that was starting early in the year?

2015-12-03 Thread Jay Cicone
Me too! Who’s got the inside scoop. I’ve been hearing rumors Jimbo is leaving
Tally from very reliable sources, but I have my doubts. I’m sure he would like
to distance himself from the divorce situation and be near better medical care
for his child, yet I don’t know if he can leave the comfort of competing—if you
can call it that--in the ACC. I’m a bit surprised Richt would go to Miami,
though I grew up with him in Boca Raton back in the 70’s, so he has south FL
ties….and of course he was a backup QB there.

Re: [gatortalk] Fwd: [gatornews] [SUN]: UF notebook: Seniors side with Demarcus Robinson; Grier doing class work

2015-12-03 Thread Rob Alexander
I'm not sure he has really mastered throwing away the ball. He still holds it
too long when he's in trouble and gives up sacks when he could throw it away.
That said, I have a lot of respect for him. He really doesn't have the tools
for Coach Mac's system, but he doesn't get (too) rattled and he doesn't give
up. If I were him I think I would be a total mental case by now. I feel about
him like I used to feel about Driskel. He's not getting the job done, and I
think we need a new QB, but I also feel bad about that because I think he's
giving everything he has in a very difficult situation.

Re: [gatortalk] Fwd: [gatornews] [SUN]: UF notebook: Seniors side with Demarcus Robinson; Grier doing class work

2015-12-03 Thread Kirkley
You must be watching different games than me. He is a really bad quarterback.

Unless of course the goal is to make one read, then sprint to your right,
regardless of how much time the line is giving you. Or maybe he thinks
defenders armpits are his receivers, either way, he is not good.

The O line has actually done a decent job in pass protection, too often though
Treon runs out of the pocket instead of stepping into it. That leaves home
with no option other than to take a sack or throw the ball four rows deep in
the stands (a play he has mastered).

But now that we have Del Rio, Franks and Eason, next year will definitely be
better.

Does Jimbo have his eye on the NFL? I think that may be the best way to get rid
of him, although I’m fine with him staying and Mac beating his ass regularly
once he gets his players.

2015-12-03 Thread Shane Ford
"The O line has actually done a decent job in pass protection, too often though
Treon runs out of the pocket instead of stepping into it."

I agree with your overall sentiment that Treon is not getting the job done. I
feel for him to! He would not have come to UF with the current staff here. He
came to play in the spread offense that Pease was running. I also disagree
with your assessment on the offense of line.

This is not entirely true or your memory isn't recalling this correctly. In
the Vandy & FAU games, the O-Line played like crap! Coach Mac even agreed with
that. They didn't run block or pass block well and looked like dead fish.
Remember? In the F$U game, the O-Line played a little better overall, but the
pass blocking still wasn't where it should be. Often times, he could barely
take 3-5 steps back before the rusher got through the line and was chasing him.
There were occasions where he did step up in the pocket and the line couldn't
hold the D back and he got sacked or chased.

Maybe I'm watching different games. ;-)

Re: [gatortalk] Fwd: [gatornews] [SUN]: UF notebook: Seniors side with Demarcus Robinson; Grier doing class work

2015-12-03 Thread Kirkley
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the effort Treon is bringing every week, he is
a gamer. And you are correct, he is a square peg try to fit into a round hole
with this offense.

And while I wont say our o line is all world, they aren't as bad as some make
them out to be. They are bad in run blocking, can't seem to get a push against
anyone. And while they have the occasional breakdown letting someone in
untouched, this is usually on a blitz, which Treon never seems to read.

There are receivers open often enough with time to throw but one of three
things seems to happen too often. Throw the ball into the nearest armpit,
throw the ball so it skips to the receive on one bounce or bail out right.

All that said, I am beyond ecstatic with this season and won't rule out a win
on Saturday (not likely, but that's why you play the games, right?). The future
is very bright and the whole program just has a different vibe to it, never
more evident than watching our former idiot go ballistic and ruin any chance of
an Auburn comeback last weekend .

Go Gators!

2015-12-03 Thread Shane Ford
Very true! I know the announcers commented several times that Powell was wide
open and Treon never saw him.

I also feel very blessed with this season and am looking forward to the future
of this program. Go Gators

The offense is bad. The offensive line is decimated by Muschampism and
 injuries.
If Treon had time to look down the field, he would probably see a lot more
 open receivers.
He is no Johnny Unitas, but he isn’t bad.
I predict a win over Alabama Saturday.
