I would suggest the project discusses it with them. BTW I also agree Mentors shouldn't automatically become part of the new PMC if they did not help. Thanks, Justin

There is an inactive IPMC member on the proposed PMC - who didn't have time, or bandwidth to help in any way on the project but yet chose to be part of and expressed his intent to be on the proposed PMC. Mind you there was no merit earned here, the fact that one is an IPMC member lets u be a mentor - and then a free ride to be part of PMC without performing the mentor's role. Re: [DISCUSS] Graduate Apache Hudi (Incubating) as a TLP
Hi, One thing I think may need some explanation. I notice a person who has been recently added (not voted) to the project is part of the proposed PMC. As far as I can tell they have had no involvement in the project. I can see a couple of other PMC members who has also had no noticeable involvement in the project. Now having inactive PMC members is not a big deal, but I curious why these people are on the proposed PMC list. Some other very minor things: - it seems a little odd that you have 90+ contributors but have only invited 5 committers. Looks like a few have made sizeable contributions as well. - links on download page need fixing (https://www.apache.org/dist/ has been deprecated) - logos of other companies on front page - There exists some 3rd party branding issues e.g [1][2] Were you aware of these? Are there any formalities that we need to do (vote etc)? Just in case we do, I am fully in support! Also, just today I sent a (admittedly long) email (NuttX: More than just code) where I explained that we need a lot of help in many areas. Of course, code is important, but we need people with other skills too. Thanks for getting involved. [CVE-2020-1939] Apache NuttX optional/example ftpd program NULL pointer bug
CVE-2020-1939: Apache NuttX optional/example ftpd program NULL pointer bug Severity: Important Vendor: Apache NuttX (Incubating) Versions Affected: 6.15 to 8.2 (all pre-date NuttX joining the Apache.org Incubator) Description: The Apache NuttX (Incubating) project provides an optional separate "apps" repository which contains various optional components and example programs. One of these, ftpd, had a NULL pointer dereference bug. The NuttX RTOS itself is not affected. Users of the optional apps repository are affected only if they have enabled ftpd. Mitigation: Users of affected versions should upgrade to 9.0.0 or apply the following patch: https://patch-diff.githubusercontent.com/raw/apache/incubator-nuttx-apps/pull/10.patch Credit: This issue was discovered by Jakub Botwicz of Samsung R Poland. The Apache NLPCraft (https://nlpcraft.apache.org) community is pleased to announce the immediate availability of Apache NLPCraft 0.5.0 (incubating). Apache NLPCraft is an open source library for adding natural language Interface to any applications. [ANNOUNCE] Apache NuttX 9.0.0-incubating released
The Apache NuttX (incubating) project team is proud to announce Apache NuttX 9.0.0-incubating has been released. This is the 1st Apache release as an Apache Incubator project. NuttX is a real-time operating system (RTOS) with an emphasis on standards compliance and small footprint. Scalable from 8-bit to 64-bit microcontroller environments, the primary governing standards in NuttX are Posix and ANSI standards. Additional standard APIs from Unix and other common RTOS’s (such as VxWorks) are adopted for functionality not available under these standards, or for functionality that is not appropriate for deeply-embedded environments (such as fork()). Re: [VOTE] Release Apache IoTDB 0.9.3
Hi, my vote is +1 (binding). I checked: - Downloaded Sources - Checked Signatures and Hashes are ok - LICENSE, RELEASE_NOTES, NOTICE and README are fine - Hive and Commons Notice seems outdated (2018, 2019) - Unzipped Archive - No unexpected Binaries - No Snapshot dependencies - Run build ("mvn clean install") - Comment: Fails with non-english locale. But "mvn clean install -Dmaven.test.skip=true" passes, so its "minor" Best and gratulations to this good RC!
