Re: Need some help to bring ambari into incubator again

2022-04-16 Thread John D. Ament
The incubation proposal guide can be found at [1]. You'll need a champion
and 3 mentors. The champion you can think of as your go to person for
getting the proposal written and submitted. Note that because your
employer wants something doesn't mean the incubator would be the right
place to make it happen. Your company may want to first try to see if it
can build an open source project off of Ambari and then bring that into the
incubator, it may be hard to find a full set of committers coming in. We
generally work better when its an established open source project, rather
than a brand new project.

Re: [DISCUSS] Incubating Proposal of DevLake

2022-04-16 Thread Jean-Baptiste Onofré
Hi Willem,

It looks interesting. I took a look on github repo. I don't see the
relation between DevOps and data collection/ETL part mentioned on the
README.

For the data collection/ETL framework, it sounds similar to
Gobblin/NiFi, etc. The DevOps part is more interesting IMHO. I have to
dig into this.

I am happy to see DevLake summit the proposal.
The initial committers are keep open for learning OSS Culture and Apache

I am confident to help them become a qualified Apache project.

2022-04-16 Thread li gang
Hi, Mingyu,if iceberg NOTICE is not standard NOTICE file,I think it's
necessary to modify it.

The Apache standard NOTICE could be removed in the NOTICE,

Such as the following text,if they are the ASF products,they can be removed
to reduce the NOTICE file.

```
=
 Notice file for: spark-core_2.12-2.4.6
=
Spark Project Core
Copyright 2020 The Apache Software Foundation
This product includes software developed at
The Apache Software Foundation (http://www.apache.org/).
=
 Notice file for: httpcore-4.4.15
=
Apache HttpCore
Copyright 2005-2021 The Apache Software Foundation
This product includes software developed at
The Apache Software Foundation (http://www.apache.org/).
