+1, Glad to see a better performance project Gluten can enter into the
incubator. I'm very interested in high performance projects.
I hope Gluten brings more possibilities for computational acceleration.

Re: [DISCUSS] Incubating Proposal for OzHera

2023-09-07 Thread David Zollo
After reading the comments and concerns, I went to check out this
project[1]. I think this project is still in a very early stage and
requires significant improvement. It would be beneficial to have these
mentors guide the improvements, and learn some open-source knowledge
like the apache way, and you'd better to establish a user community
before entering the incubator.

Re: [DISCUSS] Graduate Apache SeaTunnel (incubating) as a TLP

2023-04-13 Thread david zollo
Hi Justin,

I can answer why apache SeaTunnel(incubating) community didn't use ASF Slack,
To be honest, It is not very convenient to create a seatunnel channel
in asf-slack space, because the time zone is different, and the users
in the community are mainly in the UTC/GMT+08:00, usually they invite
users who don't have apache mail into the slack group, users do not
want to wait for several hours to pass.
So I suggested the initial ppmc team to create
apacheseatunnel.slack.com , and it is voluntarily managed by PPMC
members of the Apache SeaTunnel (incubating) community

SeaTunnel project has a very active community, many contributors are
participating in the project, growing from less than 10 contributors before
the incubation stage to hundreds of contributors now.
As a mentor of SeaTunnel, glad to see a diverse community being built, this
project podling is ready to graduate from the incubator.

- Have the incubating in name

I checked:
- Download link is valid
- LICENSE and NOTICE looks fine, DISCLAIMER in place
- Release packages are completed with source and signatures (bin and web
are also included).
- Checksums and PGP signatures are valid
- Compile and test passed with maven 3.6.3 and Java 8 - an interesting
finding here is "scala-maven-plugin" could cause build failure with high
version of JDK, and gone with downgrade JDK, exactly as
https://github.com/davidB/scala-maven-plugin/issues/215 shows.
