Hi Dave,

Thank you for your inputs. To give more context, the reason we are doing
the release is to fix a backwards incompatible change with the save_params
API. This issue impacted some of our users and the warning message in RC0
showed an alternative API for one use case but not the other when
save_params was called. We are fixing it to provide a warning message for
both use cases, so that users may not end up replacing save_params with the
wrong API.
My sincere apologies to the mentors, for creating additional work.

Mentors all - Releases are not cheap and we are all volunteers.

Can we teach Release Managers to have a little more judgement about when to 
pull a release?

It seems to be too risk adverse to cancel this vote due to a warning message.

Hi Sergio,

The 1.2.0 release notes have been added to NEWS.md. Thanks for pointing
about CODEOWNERS file. Agree that it is not required in the source release
and I will add its removal to the release steps so that it can be removed
next time.

* LICENSE & NOTICE files look good
* no binary files in the source release
* clean build (osx 10.12.6)

Some minor details I'd like to comment:
* I don't understand what's the purposed of CODEOWNERS file in the source
release
* I've noticed the patch release is not included in the README's changelog.
