Queries like site:dev.gentoo.org cross compile will continue to work just as fine as they do now, whereas they would not if, for instance, some documents were only known by google as people.g.o/login/foo while other were known as dev.g.o/~login/bar. I changed it to a 301 redirect, but this isn't something I'm going to spend a lot of time fiddling with. What's there didn't take a lot of time to set up and doesn't require a lot of effort to maintain.
