Bingo, I see you already know all the important words ;-).

(Just FYI, there's no four-letter variant of this word in Czech, but adding
one letter to the part of someone's surname is an extremely easy
operation :-) )

I like it.

No clue if that's a hold over from older days, but perhaps that
redirect might be inline with what you're after.

A big thank you to whoever implemented this -
http://people.gentoo.org/brix/ now points to
http://dev.gentoo.org/~brix/ :)

However, it would be nice if it wasn't just a 302 redirect so that one
could copy and paste the URL directly?

Actually is only working atm like this http://people.gentoo.org/vapier/

It would be great if we can get a full rewrite instead of a redirect.

On the other hand, having redirects is much better for googling
devs' pages. Queries like site:dev.gentoo.org cross compile will
continue to work just as fine as they do now, whereas they would
not if, for instance, some documents were only known by google as
people.g.o/login/foo while other were known as dev.g.o/~login/bar.

I agree it's a rather minor annoyance though.

I changed it to a 301 redirect, but this isn't something I'm going to spend
a lot of time fiddling with. What's there didn't take a lot of time to set
up and doesn't require a lot of effort to maintain. IOW, I hope this is
good enough because it's probably all you're going to get for the
immediate future. ;)

I know Czech but can't read or write it. :-D Well maybe a little
bit. I took it as my foreign language in college but didn't put forth
enough effort to really get the reading/writing down well. I can still
understand spoken language well... But anyway...

I don't say it looks unprofessional but it looks better people.g.o
instead of dev.g.o. And yes upstream devs are used to people.xyz.

I've noticed that a few projects provice an URL similar to
http://people.gentoo.org/brix/ for their developers to host their web

 it sure looks more professional.
