We have no ability to manage subscribers, Source Forge took that ability
away from us as part of respecting privacy. You can reach out to their
support system if the
https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/geoserver-users link included

Actually they have a form, let me fill in "an email address that may be

Subject: Re: [Geoserver-users] Oracle TIMESTAMP(0) WITH LOCAL TIME ZONE field

Hi Graham,
that seems the behavior the Oracle store adopts when it finds a column whose
type it
does not understand. If that's the case, a code change would be needed in the
OracleDialect
 class,
to make it correctly recognize the type, plus maybe some other changes to
account of the timezone information.
That, along with tests, would be the base for a Pull Request against a
GeoTools
 that would address the issue.

If coding is not an option for your organization, then you could look for
someone to perform the changes on your behalf.

Hi Andrea,

We indeed made tests with wmts, through the viewer available in GeoServer.

I will check with other services if we can have a behaviour which is ok
with the customer requirements.

Re: [Geoserver-users] [Question]Output from gdal_translate projwin is different from geoserver WCS GetCoverage request?

2023-04-04 Thread Pham Huu Bang
Hello Jody,

I even tested with GeoTools v29-snapshot with this code below and it
returned size 18 x 5 instead of 17 x 3 for gdal_translate or 17 x 4 for
geoserver WCS GetCoverage.
I thought using geotools should yield the same result as geoserver WCS
GetCoverage, but it is not.
Do you have any suggestions for the code before?

File file = new File("/home/aaa/Downloads/temp/test.tif");

Hints hint = new Hints();
hint.put(Hints.DEFAULT_COORDINATE_REFERENCE_SYSTEM, WGS84);
hint.put(Hints.FORCE_LONGITUDE_FIRST_AXIS_ORDER, Boolean.TRUE);

GeoTiffReader reader = new GeoTiffReader(file, hint);
GridCoverage2D coverage = reader.read(null);

CoverageProcessor processor = CoverageProcessor.getInstance();

final ParameterValueGroup param =
processor.getOperation("CoverageCrop").getParameters();

// 137.915315044103 -36.51629558851893 154.64770004642423
-40.081875882617666
double minLong = 137.915315044103;
double maxLong = 154.64770004642423;
double minLat = -40.081875882617666;
double maxLat = -36.51629558851893;

final GeneralEnvelope crop = new GeneralEnvelope(new
GeographicBoundingBoxImpl(minLong, maxLong,
minLat, maxLat));

ReferencedEnvelope envelope = new ReferencedEnvelope(new
Envelope(minLong, maxLong,
minLat, maxLat), WGS84);

param.parameter("Source").setValue(coverage);
param.parameter("Envelope").setValue(envelope);

GridCoverage2D cropped = (GridCoverage2D) processor.doOperation(param);

GridCoverageFactory gcf = new GridCoverageFactory();
GridCoverage2D gc = gcf.create("name",
cropped.getRenderedImage(), cropped.getEnvelope());
String url = "/tmp/geotools.tif";
File outputFile = new File(url);
GeoTiffWriter writer = new GeoTiffWriter(outputFile);
writer.write(gc, null);
writer.dispose();

gdalinfo /tmp/geotools.tif

 I've a hard time understanding which one should be the correct result
 by gdal_translate or GeoServer.

 My system (Ubuntu 22.04) has:
 - GDAL 3.4.1
 - Geoserver 2.22 running on Tomcat on port 9090

 I have a small tiff file (link to download at the bottom of this
 thread) in EPSG:4326, then I wanted to have a small subset on Lat and Long
 axes from it by running:

 -  gdal_translate -projwin 137.915315044103 -36.51629558851893
 154.64770004642423 -40.081875882617666 test.tif gdal.tif

[Geoserver-users] Query regarding WMS and WFS request

2023-04-04 Thread Kajal Shrawan Katoke via Geoserver-users
Hi Team,

I am facing issue to use below filter in WMS and WFS(curl or http) request. I
have setup of geoserver with postgis datastore.
List of filter:

  *   PropertyIsLike
  *   strEndsWith
  *   strStartsWith
  *   jsonArrayContains
  *   DWithin
  *
I am referring document,
but didn't find any solution. I have used operators like "PropertyIsBetween" ,
" PropertyIsEqualTo" and FeatureId". But when I use "PropertyIsLike" not
getting output.
Now I want to know, how to use above filters in WMS and WFS request.

Thanks & regards,

Re: [Geoserver-users] legend options

2023-04-04 Thread Andrea Aime
Hi Matina,
here is what I get with rasters:

https://gs-main.geosolutionsgroup.com/geoserver/ows?service=WMS=1.3.0=GetLegendGraphic=image%2Fpng=20=20=sf%3Asfdem=true_options=layout:horizontal

The output is transparent (check it with an image viewer), but now I see
what you meant by having the values horizontal as well...

[image: image.png]

I don't see a way to have those labels horizontal right now. Implementation
does not seem trivial, labels can be pretty long and each have a different
length.
The legend would also have to become also very long, and maybe have labels
placed above and below, alternatively...

Seems to me coding is needed to achieve what yo want. In this case, the
following document applies:
https://github.com/geoserver/geoserver/wiki/Successfully-requesting-and-integrating-fixes,-improvements-and-new-features-in-GeoServer

Cheers

transparent=true does work for me, it might not be visible in the browser

Re: [Geoserver-users] Oracle TIMESTAMP(0) WITH LOCAL TIME ZONE field

2023-04-04 Thread Andrea Aime
Hi Graham,
that seems the behavior the Oracle store adopts when it finds a column
whose type it
does not understand. If that's the case, a code change would be needed in
the OracleDialect

class,
to make it correctly recognize the type, plus maybe some other changes to
account of the timezone information.
That, along with tests, would be the base for a Pull Request against a
GeoTools

that would address the issue.

If coding is not an option for your organization, then you could look for
someone to perform the changes on your behalf.

Re: [Geoserver-users] GeoWebCache - How to hide/replace 404 errors for missing tiles

2023-04-04 Thread Andrea Aime
Hi Alexandre,
you don't say which service you're using (that matters)...

For example, returning 404 is a requirement from the WMTS specification,
omitting that would make the server non compliant.
An explicit test for it is mandated as part of the "Abstract Test Suite":

a) Test purpose: Verify that when a request contains a TileRow or TileCol
incorrect, then the server throws an exception.
b) Test method: When a request contains a TileRow or TileCol greater or
equal to MatrixHeight and MatrixWidth respectively for the selected
TileMatrix, then the server throws an exception (code= TileOutOfRange) in
Procedure Oriented Architectural Style or a HTTP 404 File not found in
Resource Oriented Architectural Style.

So it's actually a service exception when using KVP style, and a 404 when
using the RESTFul style.

In any case, as far as I know there is no way to change the existing
behavior (right or wrong which might be) other than changing the code
itself.
We could even have a flag to make the server more lenient for example, as
long as it's clear that could have compliance consequences (if it's WMTS
restulf that we are talking about).

Cheers
Andera

[Geoserver-users] Oracle TIMESTAMP(0) WITH LOCAL TIME ZONE field

2023-04-04 Thread Humphries, Graham
I have an Oracle table with one field recently changed to TIMESTAMP(0) WITH
LOCAL TIME ZONE
The Geoserver layer ignores this field now.
Is there anyway to get Geoserver to pick up this field?

[Geoserver-users] GeoWebCache - How to hide/replace 404 errors for missing tiles

2023-04-04 Thread Alexandre Gacon
Hello,

I would like to know if there is a setting or a trick to have GeoWebCache
send blank tiles instead of a 404 error when a request does not match the
area of the data.

I have the option to put a reverse proxy in front of GeoServer to do the
trick but I would prefer to avoid adding a new component in my architecture
for this requirement.
