Hello I just looked up a style with only a TextSymbolizer, and it’s represented in the Legend, if you have values in the name or title tag. If you want the mapOnly to overrule it so you still have values in your name and description tags, but the rule is not precent in the legend you need to set it out side of the TextSymbolizer. ex. (here in version 1.1.0) mapOnly On version 1.0.0 it will not validate, but it will work.. I hope this helps. Text symbolizers are not being represented in png legend anyways, as far as I know? Unless... are you talking about the JSON legend output format? It seems in Geoserver 22.0 and above that: mapOnly is not working (excluding the symbolizer from the legend) when included inside a element.
