Re: Blocked from streaming
Thanks Mark. Interestingly the browser version of BBC sounds and the android app are both still working. Presumably the intent is to block 'unusual' anonymous access. I've since set up my transcoder using TVHeadend.. shame I didn't do that in the first instance, but I didn't think I'd get snared simply by using their URL. Sorry, when I viewed the 'contact the BBC pages', there were a lot of FAQ's and didn't seem to be an easy way to contact them directly, hence the question. I've since raised a ticket with BBC feedback and will report back when I get a reply. ___ get_iplayer mailing list get_iplayer@lists.infradead.org http://lists.infradead.org/mailman/listinfo/get_iplayer
Blocked from streaming
Hi all, I know this is off-topic, but I was hoping someone might have some suggestions about what I can do about this or what service I need to raise this issue. I routinely listen to BBC radio via VLC, using the links on this page; https://gist.github.com/bpsib/67089b959e4fa898af69fea59ad74bc3 However, none of the stream links are working for BBC radio now.. Oddly, neither is it working for LBC.. I am able to listen to both BBC & LBC when connected to a VPN, which makes me think that my home IP is on a radio streaming blocklist. Since the BBC are switching off their usual mp3 over http streams soon, I set up a transcoder on my server so that I could continue to listen to BBC radio via my ageing internet radio device.. I suspect that this continuous connection may have trigged an automatic ban, however I'm a licence fee payer and resident in the UK.. and have no clue how to get my IP off such a blocklist. Does anyone here have a clue ? Thanks! ___ get_iplayer mailing list get_iplayer@lists.infradead.org http://lists.infradead.org/mailman/listinfo/get_iplayer
Re: Discrepancy between iplayer & get_iplayer
Thanks for the comprehensive answer! I didn't realise there could be more than one version for the same pid, that's just what I needed to know. You may question the sanity of someone that wants to watch 58 minutes of blather and bluster, let alone 170 minutes.. but I'm curious why the disparity and whether it's possible to get the full version. > Indeed, what a waste of 170m! It's Boris Johnson, so, if you can see his mouth moving, you know he's lying! Discrepancy between iplayer & get_iplayer
Hi All, I'm having an odd issue where downloading the Select Committee of the 'Conduct of Boris Johnson' is a file of 58 minutes regardless of the quality (hd, sd & web tried). The file downloaded is always 670mb (or thereabouts) so the quality seems to be being ignored. The file is also the same regardless of the method, --pid m001krfw or searching by name, whereas the version on the iplayer in the browser is the full 170 minutes. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m001krfw/select-committees-conduct-of-boris-johnson-inquiry?page=1 You may question the sanity of someone that wants to watch 58 minutes of blather and bluster, let alone 170 minutes.. but I'm curious why the disparity and whether it's possible to get the full version. ___ get_iplayer mailing list get_iplayer@lists.infradead.org http://lists.infradead.org/mailman/listinfo/get_iplayer
