Re: [Ghm-discuss] organizing the travel

2017-04-17 Thread Darshit Shah

Hi Jose,

I will be attending GHM as well and will be traveling from Saarbruecken.
I was wondering if you have more space in your car for me to join you.
Then I could easily make the journey to either Frankfurt city or airport
whichever would be more convenient.

so I took my ticket to the next GNU Hacker Meeting.

I could use some indications about the travel to reach the place.

I understand that the final part can be from Fulda or Kassel.

But how to reach Fulda or Kassel ?

From where I live I can easily access direct flights to Berlin,
   Frankfurt, Munich.

Which one is better ? For example in Berlin the link between the
airport and the central station may be not easy.

And then how long will it take to Fulda or Kassel ?

Are there other people gathering in main German airports ? It could
be worth to share a part of the travel.

I live in Frankfurt and will be driving to the GHM. So, if you want,
you can fly to Frankfurt and join us.

[Ghm-discuss] GHM 2017 Update

2017-04-17 Thread John Darrington
It is less that 2 months away from the point where we have to either
confirm or cancel GHM 2017. Right now, we don't quite have enough confirmed
registrations to proceed.

Previous experience of Gnu events have shown that many people commit themselves
right at the last possible moment. Unfortunately that isn't going to work this
time - we need to confirm the venue in advance.

If you have any aquantainces who have indicated an intention to attend, but have
not yet registered, then please give them a gentle reminder.

A couple of people have registered but not yet paid (you know who you are) -
it would be great if we could get your money soon.

Less urgently, there are a number of tasks for which we need volunteers.
For example, "master of ceremonies", co-ordination of car-pooling, audio-visual
recording, arranging the program (I think someone put his hand up for that, but
I'm not sure). If you can help with any of these tasks please reply to this
post.

Hope to see you all at GHM 2017.

J'
