Hi,

Perhaps a silly question, but is there a Refresh Scripts for python-fu?

It isn't needed. If you change your python script, GIMP will use the
updated version next time you start it. Script-Fu needs a special
function for this since the interpreter keeps running and needs to be
told to reload the scripts. That's not the case with python-fu.

That said, all the scripts are read and installed at start-up, so
if you add a new script, you will need to restart the GIMP (same
as if you add a new plug-in).

Actually, the band at the bottom doesn't necessarily have to be pale.
GIMP 2.2 checks the color of the bottom area of the splash and chooses
a suitable level of gray for the text overlay. The area at the bottom
should however not have too much contrast or the text will become
unreadable. Your best bet is that you try to use your image as a
splash with a GIMP-2.2 pre-release. http://www.gimp.org/about/splash/
tells you how to do that.

let me see if i can sum up what has happened. please correct me if i am
wrong.

gimp has a completed web site which was put on hold until people could
their things off from the old computer

gimp web team dis-assembles some to try to put together something for
gimpcon2 in berlin at the ccc camp

the web site becomes disassembled by someone else for reasons that are
still not answered

the old working pieces do not get moved because the new head of the web
team was more respectful and simply disappeared (instead of having
opinions and trouble and quitting)

everything waits for this new/gone yet not quit leader

now it is too late?

please fix this information. i know it must be wrong. it looks like
someone has been acting emotionally and not doing the right thing for
the wrong reasons.

Please take the current contest down. It should be on www.gimp.org.

It seems that few people learned from the mistakes of the last contest.
Once again, it is slashdotted. The framework on wgo was designed to

Given that (unfortunately) I had already made an announcement,
since (unfortunately) this thing got left to the last minute and
there was no time left to wait for some kind of group approval,
it was important that we put something in place today. The
contest is only going to run for 6 days. Waiting until tomorrow

Sorry, but at the time I said this the news was still broken and there
was no sign at all that this would change anytime soon. If I had known

 Hi all,

After a false start, the GIMP Splash Contest is now officially
 open!

The contest runs until next Sunday, Midnight. Splash screens
should be the same size as jimmac's logo and have a pale band
across the bottom roughly the same size. Otherwise, knock
 yourselves out!

Competition entries should be attached to the live.gnome.org wiki
 page at http://live.gnome.org/GnomeArt_2fGimpSplashContest - you
will need to create a wiki account. We will definitely have some
kind of (small) prize sponsored, details will follow during the
week (but the real reason you are doing it is the glory, right?)

Good luck to everyone! And don't forget, spread the news!

 Cheers,
 Dave Neary.
