No need to go through every change, just install the latest

[Gimp-user] Upgrade question

2010-12-23 Thread Ralph Zerbonia
I have recently installed Gimp 2.6.2

Occasionally I am having things crash. If I wish to upgrade say to 2.6.11,
do I need to go through each and every upgrade from 2.6.2 or can I just use
the 2.6.11?

Thanks for the info, sorry if this has been asked, I looked back a bit but
didn't see anything.

 Available as a dead-tree
edition, or e-book.

While it's not free, what made the program much more useful
for me was getting a copy of List member Akkana Peck's book, /Beginning
Gimp - From Novice to Professional/, published by APress. About USD 50,
but if you want to learn GIMP, it's hard to think of a better way to
spend the money.

You might want to have a look at the "Gimp User Manual" (available as
PDF or HTML from http://docs.gimp.org/) or at the mature but still good
to read "Grokking the Gimp" (http://gimp-savvy.com/BOOK/index.html - it
was written for a much older version of the program, but the main
difference is in the looks of the user interface, not the functionality,
so it is still of good use when it comes to understanding what one is
doing).
