[Gimp-user] Python wrappers for easier GEGL access -

2013-11-28 Thread Joao S. O. Bueno
Hi there -

as you may know, i tis possible to use GEGL from Python and other languages
by using gobject introspection -

But the automated bindings generated make it too verbose, and
make poor use of the introspection built-in GEGL itself -

So I've created these lightweight wrappers over the automatic bindings,
with the main objective of exposing GEGL's introspection facilities
transparently
in Python:

https://pypi.python.org/pypi/python-gegl/0.1
https://github.com/jsbueno/python-gegl/releases/tag/v0.1

The little code that is in there now should be enough to get
started in popularizing GEGL as a general purpose Imaging Library
for people doing Python -
if only we can make pygobject installation itself easier. :-/

Is it possible giving me a link to those tiff files? I hope the images
are harmless.

Have you some strange plug-ins installed?

Mmm, strange.

Sorry, but it's a development version. ;-)

[Gimp-user] Gegl Operation Missing

I am running Ubuntu 13.10, and was running Gimp 2.9 - installed from your PPA.
When I first installed it, it ran just fine, then started throwing up error
messages with new tiff files derived from my Image Data Converter or Irfanview.

I uninstalled, reinstalled, and then, this new problem where Gimp won't start at
all.

I have since purged your ppa and reinstalled 2.8 (latest version), and it is
working fine.

The above notwithstanding, I am very excited to see the progress on version 2.9.
I had it installed on my Win7 setup, and, while it seemed to run very slow, it
had no problem handling 16-bit tiffs.

On the Linux side, your ppa ran very crisply.

Looking forward to when I can get it working again.

Thanks for the reply.
