[Gimp-user] Watermarking in batches
Can anyone tell me the best GIMP way to apply a watermark to a batch of pictures? I have tried to use the migee.scm with the example script provided in the notes. After many attempts, all I get is another command screen with only an option to close. I get no error messages, just what appears to be an abort of some kind. I have a fresh GIMP install 2.8.14 on Windows 8.1 Any advice appreciated and I apologize if this is a topic which has already been hashed. [Gimp-user] NEF opening files wit version 2.8.14
I am using Partha's build of McGimp 2.1.4 from http://www.partha.com . This includes what I presume is an up to date version of ufraw, though it is not easy to divine the version. ATB Actually, it does claim to be a version 0.20, I am not entirely sure how meaningful that might be. Anyway, it does very well for me for .NEF files from a D7000 . Is there online resource as to how I can update UFRaw to 0.21 or update CVS version? In my install on Mac OS X Yosemite (10.10.4), I don't see 'raw image 3fr,arl' or any other 'raw image' option available in the 'Select File Type' list. There is 'Raw Image Data' with extension data in the list, but that does not open .NEF files correctly. I am using Partha's build of McGimp 2.1.4 from http://www.partha.com . [Gimp-user] Can't get Themes to work
I have interleaved some responses Kevin Is there a reason you're not using the latest version- 2.8.14 ? It's generally considered a bad idea to put extras in the GIMP system I recommend you take this up on one of the GIMP forums (gimpchat.com or gimpforums.com) as there's plenty of people who can help. Kevin I'll respect your suggestion to take the matter up over where you have replied to me at gimpforums.com In reply to your ancillary comments above. I installed 2.8.6 on my machine in mid 2013. I'm really not an artist I use the program mostly to get my PC to do things that I need it to do. So, I really only started using Gimp regularly about a year ago. Documentation is sparse and the learning curve (for a n00b) is steep. It took me a while to get to the point where extras were something I thought I might need. So, only recently has the thought of improving my Gimp experience entered the picture. I put the extras where I did pretty much mimicking the directory structure that the install routine used when it incorrectly installed to C:\Program Files x86\Gimp..., except I moved them to the correct C:\Program Files\Gimp... location. Raw image data is actually raw binary image data (bitmaps without even a header to give heightwidth) not raw camera sensor data (this entry predates digital photography...). UFRaw (standalone or plugin) is slowly falling behind other de-mosaicing apps. You should consider using other apps (RawTherapee, Darktable...) and then switch to Gimp for local editing towards the end of the process. Using your camera manufacturer's standard application (Nikon Capture for you) is also an option (if there is an OSX version). Thank you. There is OS X version of Nikon Capture and I am going to try. -- KojiKawano (via www.gimpusers.com/forums) ___ gimp-user-list mailing list List address:gimp-user-list@gnome.org List membership: https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list List archives: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gimp-user-list

The best answer IMO is not to use the GIMP for this purpose.
