Re: [Gimp-user] Color of fonts of context help

2016-03-24 Thread Kevin Payne
The theme can change the colours of the tooltips, BUT the GIMP Default and
Small themes do not do this, so the colour is being set by your operating
system/window manager.

On Windows 8.1, I can change the desktop theme and it will change the
background colour of the tooltips (but not the text colour)

You haven't said which operating system you are using and what the desktop
theme colours are.

Yes, I went through numerous themes without success. In fact the desktop
tooltips seem to be alright (white on black) if I can go by what it is in a
terminal window. All other programs except 'audacity' show readable tooltips. So
I get the impression the tooltip configuration is set by each program.

[Gimp-user] .GIF help with GIMP

2016-03-24 Thread Sunny Chauhan
Good morning

I was hoping you may be able to assist me

Now i have a .GIF which I want to remove/render the BACKGROUND only and replace
it with a static background as the .GIF loops within the static background image

I have searched google and YouTube videos and majority of the
videos/instructions refer to rendering/removing a static image on a static
background.

I have read your guides and there isn't much information about this option

I was hoping you'd be able to help me with this?

Regards

Sunny

[Gimp-user] Some light reading...

2016-03-24 Thread mgroothuis
Was looking for the ultimate Tile Cache setting in Gimp when I came across this
in docs.gimp.org: "If you have a modern computer with plenty of memory–say, 512
MB or more–setting the Tile Cache to half of your RAM will probably give good
performance for GIMP in most situations without depriving other applications.
Probably even 3/4 of your RAM would be fine. " Those were the good old days...
