[Gimp-user] GIMP with Cintiq - menues

2013-10-16 Thread Uniklaps
GIMP 2.8 Win 7 64 bit GeForce GTX 670M

Hi everyone,

I'm using GIMP with a Cintiq. Sitting in front of my Cintiq my laptop is to
my left hand (90°)

Every time I create a new layer, the layer menue open on the laptop screen
and not on the Cintiq. (same for scaling layers or drawing paths, choosing
colours.) So I had to lay down the pencil, take the mouse, draw by
mouse the menue to the Cintiq and continue my work.

Is there a way to tell the GIMP menues: Please, stay on the Cintiq?? It's a
little bit confusing.

I know, that I could clone the laptop screen to the Cintiq, but I prefer to
use separate screens for parallel used software.

Thanks for help!

[Gimp-user] using GIMP jpegs in OpenOffice Writer - error

2013-09-04 Thread Uniklaps
Win 7 64 bit RAM 16 GB GIMP 2.8.4

Hi friends,

with GIMP I create maps using a WACOM tablet. I save the data as xcf,
additional using the export option as jpg and tif. These files Jpg and tif
are for further use. If I try to insert one of these jpgs, OpenOffice Writer
(3.4.1) show an error report "graphic filter not found" (translated from
german)

If I open the GIMP jpg with Photoshop elements and save it again as jpg
either overwriting the old file from GIMP-export or creating a new file
(copy) , OO Writer shows the same error-report; same reaction with the GIMP
tif.

But if I open the GIMP jpg or GIMP tif with PhotoLine (V 17.11; Shareware;
demo free
www.pl32.de) and save it again als jpg (highest qualitiy) then OO Writer
insert this picture.

Is this behaviour caused by GIMP or OO Writer or are both "guilty" or is
this a bug ?

Is there a way to persuade GIMP to export a readable jpg ??

Thanks for all your help!

[Gimp-user] bucket fill

2013-07-29 Thread Uniklaps
Win 7 64 bit

Hi,

how can I use the bucket-fill option to fill an area surrounded by a dotted
line?

The dotted line is a path; so if I use a line for the dots, the bucket-fill
works.

But how can I step back after filling to change the path's line into dots
again?

I appreciate your help!

Thanks

Konrad

[Gimp-user] still boring export - save as - discussion

2013-07-29 Thread Uniklaps
Hi friends,

the boring discussion resurrect again and again, it's ridiculous. I sent two
contributions to the save-firestorms before

but it seems that no one to whom it concerns read it and thought only one
second about the developer's "why".

Why do all the trolls still use this unprofessional and inefficient GIMP ?
Why they don't switch to ADOBE

for instance? Oh, I know: You can't ask ADOBE for help without paying for an
expensive contract.

So be happy with GIMP and if not stimulate your brain to learn new
keystrokes to use GIMP 2.8.

The only constructive mail came from Johan

(Ctrl-E and Shift-Ctrl-E open the same export dialog, which is a waste)

take as an example!

[Gimp-user] to save or not to save - a foolish question

2013-07-19 Thread Uniklaps
Hi friends,

don't feed these trolls! See the "save as" shitstorm of June, 14th, 15th and
16th

and finish this boring debate. Whoever use GIMP just to open jpegs to look
inside

his SD-card has no idea of GIMP's abilities. They better should use MS Photo
editor.

Have a fine weekend!

[Gimp-user] for me a sad case - xcf -file lost

2013-06-17 Thread Uniklaps
Hi, friends,

working with my Wacom-tablet for 20 min without saving (of course as a .xcf
- file :-) )

GIMP got hung up and closed. No chance to save my data. If important: I
tried to use the

bucket fill and was trying to select the colour. GIMP go on strike (may be
because it is 24:00 or 00:00

Is there anywhere a hidden place on my disk where GIMP save my work in the
background (like Open Office) ??

And: It would be great to have this restore-function in GIMP too when
restartíng a hung-up GIMP.

To talk about or to solve problems like this is (in my eyes) more important
than an annoying sad-case - discussion

Thanks for help!

Yours Konrad

[Gimp-user] Patterns in GIMP

2013-05-22 Thread Uniklaps
Win 7 64 bit / GIMP 2.8.4

Hi,

are there more patterns (like stripes and fine stripes)

for the bucket fill option available in the tools menue??

If yes, is there a GIMP download link?

Or is it possible (and if how) to make an own pattern

via scanner or by GIMP via paths and lines?

Thanks a lot and have a great day!

Yours Konrad

[Gimp-user] GIMP dotted lines

2013-04-03 Thread Uniklaps
Hi friends,

how can I draw in GIMP freehanded curved

interrupted lines (dotted; dot-dash-dot; dash-dash;...) ?

To create lines first with a pencil and to use then the rubber

gives uneven and so unsatisfactory results.

Thanks for help!
