[Goanet] PROBE INTO LAND GRABBING AN ABSOLUTE EYEWASH
Very suspect are the bonafides of the Goa Government in appointing a one-man Commission headed by a retired High Court Judge to examine the issue of land grabbing in Goa. The Judge has come from Aurangabad and it will take him time to study the ins and outs of Goa and the restrictions placed on him by this BJP Government. We can only live in hope that this Judge will have a burning desire to be fair and impartial with the courage to uphold the law and strike down injustice and not let political interference destroy his judgment and reputation. Sadly, given the track record of our Government, this hope will soon turn to despair if this Judge allows himself to be used as a Government puppet on a string. The land grab cases in Goa being a serious issue one wonders why the Goa Government did not seek the assistance of a retired High Court Judge from Goa as they are well conversant with the local terrain and the other intricacies which may take an Aurangabad Judge a couple of months to grasp. The intent of the government on this entire land grab issue is not legitimate. Even the Special Investigation Team (SIT) appointed to probe the land grabbing is politically controlled while ruling Ministers and MLAs involved in this organized crime of usurping land are given a safe haven. Letting the Masters of the Land Mafia off the hook while scapegoating a few unknown people will not bring relief to innocent victims or stop this hideous crime. So, this entire exercise is in futility with the government hoodwinking the people on the issue while scarce public funds are being poured down the drain. Yet again the Government has failed to realise that Justice must not only be done but be seen to be done. Justice delayed is Justice denied! Adv. [Goanet] Dabolim airport
The Dabolim Airport was built in 1955 and before it was stolen in 1961, it was named Aeroporto General Bernardo Guedes. Not to sure how the original name of the airport was changed or discarded. BC It would be very appropriate for the new Airport at Mopa to be named after Goa?s first Chief Minister Dayanand Bandodkar and the Dabolim Airport after Goa?s first Leader of the Opposition, Dr Jack Sequeira.

Addendum: If the choice comes down to Dayanand Bandodkar and Jack De Sequeira, and if I had a vote, it would go to De Sequeira.
