“Corruption undermines democratic institutions,...

Baai Carmen, here in lies the problem and there may be discussions and
*yawn* more discussions, all fruitless...because I think some of us
wrongly assess the nature of the beast (that is us Goichis). We aren't
made for democracy, nor an orderly or civil way of life (you mentioned
Goan civil society in an earlier post- my pet pigling and me laughed
s hard); ours is a life carved out of chaos and mayhem and we
wiggle in betweenslippery and slimy...and the only thing peaceful
are the swaying palms (not even, my fresh from Kuiit neighbour has
brought a plastic version).

One can give you a million examples but an easy one is to go to any
bankwatch how there everyone is trying to get ahead of the queue.
Now, get real yo..this is going to take yours, my pet pigling
Catrina's and my lifetimes to change this, maybe more.
Say, why get rid of corruption anyways? For whose benefit? Goa is a
lost cause...and we are done...in a very short time, Goichis will be
rare as wild boars (in Goa that is).

I think there is a fair assessment in Goa and the Blue Mountain
(on our nature). I know the chappie is down right raci*t in todays
politically correct world but, he has a point..

Some earlier poster said the father of corruption is. *** from
Margao.. The true artist of corruption were the P*rtuguese where
everything worked on the 'favor' system. In post-liberation Goa, it
was the now X spouse of a former CM who started with the public
transport system*wink wink wink*...be my guest, take a guess.

As for the jokesleast you have forgotten, there is a cryptic
message in Goan humour and Iet me remind some of the grumpy majority
on the GoaNet...lighten up: its a Goan thing to be jovial and laugh at
ourselves, even if it is about corruption! Since when did we take life
seriously?

Interesting how faced with one of the biggest crisis in Goa which in my view

I am fully with what Anesimo said. Let us the year be declared as the year of
LIBERATION FROM CORRUPTION.

Indeed, Yes.
Where are all the women??
Where are all the men??
Let the battle begin
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LU8DDYz68kM

Ten years down the line, we are yet to see the numbers against CORRUPTION.
On the contrary they do not like the name of the PARTY which actually means
'GOOD GOVERNANCE'.

My Response:

Carmen, what you have said is another reality of Goa. We, Goans mince more
words than actions. Those who are outside Goa are helpless to partake as well
to sponsor/support those who are fighting battles in Goa. Goans aspire to lead
no to be lead just as is the case of our political establishment. Result
heartbreaks. Beating chest will not bring results but action will. I came
across something today
http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/profile.php?id=11635726493 The unique
revolution of a different kind.

We still hope to have some revolution this 19 th Dec 2010. Liberation from
within.

Warm regards,

Agnelo Pinheiro

Dear all

So far, all we have been hearing was negative about everything
happening in Goa and pessimistic attitude to every solution .Those who
see black in everything, will never have any positive solutions.I can
understand the feelings of those who have been trying to do something
and have not acheived anything and have developed a negative mondset.

It is time to think and analyse the past and learn from it. Also, find
out whether there are alternate ways of doing things. Some people on
this forum and many so called I KNOW IT ALL GURUS think that theirs is
the only way of doing things. If we want to tackle this menance in Goa,
we need ideas and help from every quarters. For whatever reasons known
to them, Our Goyenkars in Goa are averse to any suggestions/help from
Goyenkars worldwide. By now they must have realised that this battle
cannot be fought on their own. If they really want to save Goa, it is
time they join hands with every Goan worldwide. We can argue, fight,
disagree and insult each other at our will. But for the sake of Goa,
lets get together and do something CONCRETE!

Let 19th December be the day for the second Liberation of Goa from
CORRUPTION!

Cheers
