Fedora and EPEL7 are done (I have also filed a ticket to get it into

I see that it has already entered Debian unstable as well [1], and so
should arrive in Debian testing in a few days if all goes well.

Ok so we keep it for later (but IMHO it should at least go to trunk).

Final question: straight release from poat-RC2 or better a quick RC3? We
had a dgraph fix and some Windows related fixes. The rest I'd have to
look up.

For me a direct final release is ok unless there is more to test.

I don't think that there have been any invasive bug fixes (I cannot
speak for Windows, though). And we can release 7.2.3 fairly quickly if
there should be any real issue.

releasing with known bugs is not ideal (although there are still quite a
few old bugs in the bug tracker...), I also think we should not extend RC
periods (and numbers) too much.

Regarding #3414 (creating a location from a vector with a single point with
v.import/v.in.ogr/g.proj), this is a special and rare case and the
potential fix for v.in.ogr is substantial, therefore I would hesitate to

This bug is caused by r71268 in relbr72, trying to support MS Windows
64bit. Fixed in r71477,8 (trunk, relbr72).

Colleagues just reported a bug in v.net.iso (but which seems to come
from the libraries). They will file a bug report, but here's the basics:

v.net streets_wake points=schools_wake out=net op=connect thresh=50

MarkusM, could this be linked to

?

Running the same commands in trunk, I actually get a segfault in the
v.net.iso call, but I really do not have time to investigate this now.

Not sure if this warrants holding back the release, but it does seem a
regression to 7.2.1.

I am not aware of any automated script. I did quick test on the osgeo server:

x86_64/release/gdal/setup.hint:requires: msvcrt2015
x86/release/gdal/setup.hint:requires: msvcrt2015

I added msvcrt to installer in r71468 (trunk) and r71469 (relbr72).
Let's check tomorrow's builds. Ma

here in my OSGeo4W 32bit installation, I have radio boxes for:

- Desktop express installation

   QGIS
   GDAL
   OpenEV
   GRASS GIS

- WebGIS express installation

- Advanced installation

in the express installation mode, only the listed software can be selected;
no RC is displayed.

wanted to test it on a windows 32bit box with OSGeo4W, but the installer
can't find the RC2 binaries.

the binaries are there:
http://download.osgeo.org/osgeo4w/x86/release/grass/grass/

in http://download.osgeo.org/osgeo4w/x86/release/grass/grass/setup.hint

curr: 7.2.1-1
prev: 7.2.0-1
test: 7.2.2RC2-1

because of the RC2 test status, a normal run of the OSGeo4W installer can't
find the binaries?

P.S. To be sure, testing should be done on other platforms as well.
Just to make sure the fixes didn't break anything else. Any testing of
python script modules and the GUI already helps with that.

I think so, done in r71323-4. Ma

As can be seen from [1], there is confusion about v.in.ogr syntax for
importing PostGIS layers. This was modified in May (r71093/r71096) to
correspond to ogr syntax. The man page still has other info, however.

IIUC, in the current (trunk and release72) version, this is enough to
import a layer:

v.in.ogr input="PG:host=localhost dbname=postgis user=postgres"
layer=polymap \

output=polygons type=boundary,centroid

and with schema:

v.in.ogr input="PG:host=localhost dbname=postgis user=postgres"
layer=schema.polymap \

output=polygons type=boundary,centroid

I'm not sure if any of the info in the "Default connection settings as
datasource (PostgreSQL only)" section of the man page is still valid. If
not, I suggest to erase the entire section and add an example with a
schema into the "PostGIS tables" section.

Martin, any comments ?
