Re: [guadec-list] FreeFA match, update?

2010-07-20 Thread Jeroen van der Vegt
The one at the venue will be indoors, but probably fully equipped with
showers and stuff. We'll see if it is available these days.

I am still trying to get some real outdoor soccer fields, but those
will be about 1.5km from the venue.
The last resort will be a huge piece of grass in a public park, with
no lines, goals or showers.

Thanks for sorting out a date and time, that helps making reservations.

We'll keep you informed!

Jeroen.

The sunset on Tuesday 27th will be at 21:41 hours.  So, you should have
 plenty of natural light.

Even better! I run on solar-power.
I only believe that when I see it ;) Last year you got plenty of sun but
you can't call that running can you ;)

About the field: I think the one at the venue would be awesome! About
the parc...is there really a football field or would we play without
 field and goals there?

[guadec-list] Climbing enthusiasts?

2010-07-20 Thread Jeroen van der Vegt
Hi all,

Just a quick message to any enthusiasts climbing coming to GUADEC:
please note that there are good (indoor) sportclimbing possibilities
very close to the venue with topropes (up to french level 8a, 8b) and
excellent bouldering options. You only need to bring you one shoos for
the latter!

Drop me a mail if are interested.

Yes, you can rent climbing gear at the place. For prices and stuff,
this is their site: http://www.steeppart.nl/openingstijden.php (the
Den Haag section obviously).
Fortunately they are better at making routes than at making websites,
as they omitted a picture of the main wall. If you can work out the
'virtual tour', you might see a glimpse of it.

 Hi,

I'll bring mine too - but they haven't been worn in about 6 years, and
didn't get a lot of use before then, so I'll probably suck eggs :)
Anyway, I'll go along (if it's at a time that suits) for an hour or two.

Jeroen: Will there be baudriers/climbing harnesses and mousquetons
 available on-site?

 Thanks,
 Dave.

Eh, sure. Voila. There may be typos. And I left out the cancelled talks
(and didn't explicitly indicate the breaks). Oh, and Fabrice Mous's name
is misspelled as Frabrice on the official schedule (though it's
correct on the individual talk page).

The directions split the airport train into 2 legs... If you are willing to
wait an extra 15-20 minutes you can catch a direct train to either Den Haag

Hotel Mercure is located on Spui road, squarely in the center of town. It is
easy walking distance from CS, but indeed you need a tram from HS.

It's a lot easier if I got off at CS, so that's I what I'll do.
 Thanks!
