Re: [HCDX] CBCK 107.5 & CFLY 98.3 Kingston, Ontario
Nick, I think several people on faceboom have called it Tropo scatter... BUT... I’m a total newbie in FM DXing, so I lean on others for more detail. Thing is, this scatter, of whatever variety it is, is near constant it seems... and I didn’t think aircraft scatter would do that On Tue, Apr 3, 2018 at 7:23 AM Nick B. wrote: > These sound like they have been received via aircraft scatter Paul. These sound like they have been received via aircraft scatter Paul. In CBCK #2 If you listen to the frequency of the flutter (rather than the program content) you'll hear it decreasing then increasing again. There are some clever software progs written by radio amateurs that exploit this mode by looking at some of the virtual radar servers online. I'm sure the FM DXing community must be using them too. [HCDX] CBCK 107.5 & CFLY 98.3 Kingston, Ontario
CFLY 98.3 and CBCK 107.5 Kingston, Ontario are both about 100KW at 500 feet, 220 miles away from me. It seems like I have "constant" tropo scatter from them the last few months.
