Guyana, 3289.97, Voice of Guyana, 0915-0930, Noted an armchair signal this morning so far. Listening to a cricket game. I understand that cricket games can last for a long time before they are finished, so this could be the same game I reported last week? :) During the play, an AD was broadcast. Heard India as one of the teams. (Chuck Bolland, March 29, 2011) Brazil, 4805.00, Radio Difusora do Amazonas, 0955-1005, At tune in noted to males in Portuguese language comments. Signal being covered by CODAR transmission which is probably causing damage to my eardrum? (Chuck Bolland, March 29, 2011) Bolivia, 6134.80, Radio Santa Cruz, 1030-1045, Noted steady Bolivian music with plenty of flute and drums. Signal was rather poor this morning. Haven't heard RSC in a week or so. Maybe just checking too early? They weren't on the air prior to 1000 UTC and sometime between then and 1030 they snuck on? At 1035 heard a live ID my a male after a short canned ID in Spanish. This activity sounded like the start of the day's broadcasting. Signal was just barely above the noise. (Chuck Bolland, March 29, 2011) Indonesia, 4749.92, RRI Makassar, 1045-1055, Noted a very faint signal here this morning with a female in Indonesian language comments at the beginning. At 1048 she's finished and music is heard. Signal was threshold. Indonesia, 4869.89, RRI Wamena,(pres), 1020-1035, Noted a female in comments until 1025. Following the comments, music is presented. The female comments again at 1030. The signal is absolutely threshold. Even the music is barely audible. However, this station is not often heard at my location, so I consider this a prize this morning. (Chuck March 16, 2010) Papua New Guinea, 3905.50, Radio New Ireland,(TENT) 1033-1045, Noted a male in English language religious(?) comments which were before an audience. There's so much chatter from ARO's that the male talking is buried in the QRM. According to both AOKI and EIBI, RNI uses Pidgin. Signal was poor. (Chuck, March 16, 2010) Papua New Guinea, 3385, Radio East New Britain, 1046-1100, Noted two males in Pigdin language comments with bridge music in the back ground. An automatic signal on the same freq caused enough interference to spoil the listening. Even so, the signal was fair. (Chuck March 16, 2010) Peru, 5039.16, Radio Libertad,(pres) 1053-1105, At tune in, noted authentic Hauynos music with a male talking over the music periodically. At 1058 canned promos and ID, but very poor, making copy difficult. Changed receivers and the signal was better on the second receiver. Unfortunately, the ID portion of the program had been given already. Signal was also poor. Bolivia, 6075, Radio Causachun Coca, 1050-1101, Noted a male and female in Spanish language comments. At 1054 the male mentions Bolivia. The entire period consisted of comments. After the hour however, the signal dropped out making listening impossible. So we went from a poor with interference to practically nil heard. But there was a trace of the signal after the top of the hour for a few minutes. (Chuck Bolland, December 8, 2009) India, 4920 AIR, Chennai, 0058-0105, Beginning with singing at tune in until 0100. Then news in Hindu language is heard with mentions of India. This was presented by a female. Signal was fair. (Chuck Bolland, December 8, 2009) Indonesia, 3976.01, RRI Pontianak, 1119-1130, Steady Indonesian language comments from a female until 1122 when music is heard. (Chuck Bolland, December 8, 2009) Indonesia, 3995, RRI Kendari, (pres) 1135-1145 With a very weak signal, but hearing music at tune in. Music typical of what is heard from RRI stations usually. Solomon Islands, 5020, SIBC, 1015-1030, Noted a threshold signal here. It's either not faded in yet, or I missed the window. Anyway, notice a male in comments. Signal was barely audible although the carrier was easy to hear. Checked back at 1100 UTC and the signal still hadn't improved. (Chuck Bolland, October 27, 2009) Russia, 6075, Radio Rossii, 1020-1030, At tune in noted two females in comments in Russian language. Signal peaked at around 1026 as I listened. At 1027 canned promos by a male. At 1028 ID by a female and then more program announcements. Signal was fair. Checked 5920 and 5920 where I heard nothing from Rossii.
