Re: [H] Mobile phones - Moto v. Samsung
Uh, neither? ;) Last Moto's worth looking at were the Razr2's: V8, V9, Z9. The Z9 is no longer available on AT&T and I don't think Alltel/Verizon ever got one. Cell phones are shite market right now IMHO, subsidized models sucking worse than unlocked choices, and Verizon's lobotomized firmwares sucking the most. I'd never pay for a V3 series given: 1. they're old, 2. they suck, 3. companies were paying customers $50 to take them on with 2yr contracts. Joe User wrote: Hello, We got an offer from Alltel to upgrade our phones. We've had our current phones for quite a few years now. Kyocera SOHO's - they serve us well. Anyway, they offer Motorazr V3a for 29.99 and Samsung Hue II for 39.99. I like both companies and I know it seems like everyone has the Motorazr's. Never seen the Samsungs before though. These phones look like they have cameras etc. In my experience all this does is give them more ways to charge you for this and that - buy new cords to plug into a computer to get pictures off - or pay a fee to email them - etc. Is this still how it is? Other question - which of these phones is better? Moto or Samsung? Based off features, usage, and what-not.
Re: [H] [Bulk] Re: Win7 rc announcement
Sure it will. You just have to modify a file first. It was done intentionally, as there's not much value for MS in the upgrade experience for people going from beta to RC1. http://blogs.msdn.com/e7/archive/2009/04/07/delivering-a-quality-upgrade-exp erience.aspx Here's what you can do to bypass the check for pre-release upgrade IF YOU REALLY REALLY NEED TO: 1. Download the ISO as you did previously and burn the ISO to a DVD. 2. Copy the whole image to a storage location you wish to run the upgrade from (a bootable flash drive or a directory on any partition on the machine running the pre-release build). 3. Browse to the sources directory. 4. Open the file cversion.ini in a text editor like Notepad. 5. Modify the MinClient build number to a value lower than the down-level build. For example, change 7100 to 7000 (pictured below). 6. Save the file in place with the same name. 7. Run setup like you would normally from this modified copy of the image and the version check will be bypassed. Yes It seems WDC is having the same issue that Seagate had (Has), just Seagate had the balls to tell the media about it. If you are looking for 1TB drive take a look at the 1st or 2nd generation of the Samsung Spinpoint drives. I have only have had a hand full of the drives come in for recovery and they were relatively easy to repair, not like the Seagate or WDC drives. Thanks, I have done that a few times. In fact, I loaded the bios setup defaults and no go. Took the drive and placed into another system seems fine but I am doing a chkdsk now. If this doesn;t find anything I will swap the sata cable. They have the cable bent back over itself and secured with a nylon tie. Not sure if that's OK to do with these sata cables or not. -- Regards, joeuser - Still looking for the 'any' key... "...now these points of data make a beautiful line..."

[H] System no boot
Hello, System booted up fine, then I pressed reset to stop it from booting. My intention was to get it into safe mode, thats why I reset it. Tried to get it to boot again and mashing F8 and now it just hangs after the BIOS/POST. The screen is on so it's getting a signal from video, but nothing else happens. I try getting it to boot from the XP CD, it presents the "Press any key to boot from CD..." but when I press the 'any' key it does the same thing: nothing - just hangs. Again, the monitor is on but nothing shows. No HDD activity. No boot. No using either the HDD or the CD doesn't allow it to boot. I'm stuck. -- Regards, joeuser - Still looking for the 'any' key...
