Re: [H] SSH in Windows 10 PRO

2020-12-15 Thread Christopher Fisk
An unwired UAP will talk to any other UAP it can see (unless you force it
to talk to a specific one). That means a wireless can talk to another
wireless. Or it can talk to a wired.

If a UAP is wired, it just uses that wired connection for it's connection.

I use the Unify devices at work, they get internet access out to the lifts
and some go multiple hops to do so. Admittedly there is very little
traffic (scanning barcodes), but it works. I anticipate it should work as
long as you have signal there.

Thanks!

Chris

Re: [H] SSH in Windows 10 PRO

2020-12-15 Thread _ Winterlight
I finally got my Unifi UAPs sorted with all three UAPS connected updated and 99
percent WIFI user experience. Chris I have a couple of questions. My setup is
two wired UAPs and one unwired.

Does MESH only occur when dealing with wired to unwired and it is suppose to be
automatic with Unifi?

My unwired UAP resides in the attic above my garage. I have Powerlink network
that I could use for that UAP but I am leery about trying that. Any thoughts?

I've encountered this in the past. If you have a unifi device that is too
old your management server won't be able to send the latest firmware or

the manual firmware update. It's annoying, but not really that difficult.

thanks. but the problem is that even though I can see the SSH authentication

Use SSH is easy to use:

1. open command prompt

2. type 'ssh r...@server.com'

where root = user name, server.com = domain name of server

It will ask for a password for user root.

I use it every day to connect to Solaris server.

You can download "putty" which is what I use for similar things, then
secure shell (SSH) into device if you know the IP addy and login
credentials. Looks like a DOS prompt where you type in commands and check
responses.

[H] SSH in Windows 10 PRO

2020-12-13 Thread _ Winterlight
I am trying to solve a Unifi 802.11ac Dual-Radio PRO Access Point
(UAP-AC-PRO-US) problem(s) with Ubiquiti email support. They asked me to do

I know SSH is a Linux that is now available to use in Win10 Pro but I have no
idea how to use it or why he wants to do this. Can somebody give me some step
by step instructions. Thanks
